18.01.2022 A lot of new people to Bonsai are asking me what do I consider to be the most informative Bonsai book they can buy, Without any hesitation I recommend 'Bonsai styles of the World' by Charles Ceronio. This wonderful book I call my Bonsai Bible, he has an index in the front listing styles and all the other pages are full of sketches what make it easy to follow the various styles. The book is only available on line under another front cover photo but the content is invaluable. Charles died last year but he has left a wonderful legacy as his book is to easy to understand even if you are a notice. Photo attached for you. Tess

10.01.2022 Hi Bonsai Enthusiasts. I have a tip for you if you have some larger scars on your Bonsai that you would like to see healed up. The attached picture will explain all. Clean out the old wood and gently expose some of the green of the protruding bark. Autumn is the time when the trees put on girth. If your scar is cleaned of all the dead wood, sealed to save for rot, then the rolling over happens over the next few months. A good fertilizer will help this process. Check the photo.

07.01.2022 Un-seasonally warm for this time of the year. I am re-potting all my pines and junipers now as I always do. It will only get colder in the coming weeks. It your pine is 'bleeding sap' because it is warmer, don't forget to use the 'tissue paper for wound sealing' rather than letting it bled out. Convential sealing methods are not recommended. (see projects if you do not understand what I have just said. Cheers Tess
