18.01.2022 Due to security changes being made to your QuickBooks Online account, you may see a pop-up message when you click on the Employees tab. Simply select Change Admin to continue using payroll in your account: By selecting this, no admin set-up or settings will be changed within the Employees tab. If your SMB client is also a payroll admin user they may also see this message appear, if they query this please reassure them that they should select Change Admin to keep using t...he file as usual. Need more help? Visit our Help & Support article. Thanks, The QuickBooks Online Team

18.01.2022 All too often, ladies, the following is so true. So its time to grab a cuppa, put your kids outside with the dog, take the phone off the hook and relax on the couch for a few minutes whilst you read Lisa Almonds humorous anecdote about her tradie. In the end, you may see some similarities in him with your tradie that you might just find redeeming. http://www.mamamia.com.au/life-as-a-tradies-partner-2/

14.01.2022 Don't get caught fiddling the figures!!! The ATO are on the lookout for businesses that are getting creative with their salary and/or wage bills so as to create additional "phantom" expenses in order to obtain an additional cash flow boost. Legally they call the criminal offence; Obtaining a benefit by deception or Fraud. If you have any questions related to this or any other small business matter, call Michael on 0405 218 062 or email [email protected]

13.01.2022 When life gives you lemons, ask for salt and tequila! Lifes too short not to enjoy the time we have together.

10.01.2022 Just saw this guy explaining how oil lubricates the engine and how it can break down over time as it becomes contaminated. Excellent. Check out his shop at Unit 3, 666 Gympie Road, Lawnton.

10.01.2022 Beware!!! The Government is coming after large cash payments and will introduce heavy penalties. See more here https://www.treasury.gov.au/consultation/c2019-t395788

07.01.2022 Taxable Payments Reports - Due Soon The 2016/2017 Taxable Payments Annual Reports are due on 28 August for businesses who are primarily in the building and construction industry. This due date applies irrespective of whether a client is using a Tax Agent or BAS Agent to prepare your report. Under this reporting regime, client purchasers are required to provide to the ATO a report (the Taxable Payments Annual Report) that specifies the supplier and their address, the supp...liers ABN (if known by the purchaser) and the total payments made to the supplier for building and construction services. Clients will be primarily in the building and construction industry (and therefore may be required to report) where any of the following apply: In 2016/2017, 50% or more of their business income was from providing building and construction services, or In 2016/2017, 50% or more of their business activity relates to building and construction services, or In 2015/2016, 50% or more of their business income was from providing building and construction services. Failure to lodge by the due date may result in penalties. In the May 2017 Federal Budget, the Government extended the Taxable Payments Reporting System (TPRS) to the cleaning and courier industries. This is not the law as yet but the extended regime is expected to apply from 01 July 2018 with the first TPAR due August 2019. With more than $2 billion voluntarily reported for the Building and Construction Industry, it could be expected that there is even greater potential for voluntary reporting from the new sectors.

06.01.2022 In case you missed the budget last week, there were a few goodies in the budget for small business but alas, there were also some things that will not endear Scott Morrison to our small business hearts. Read it for yourself.
