20.01.2022 New Asset Write Off - $150,000 The government usual instant asset write off limit was set to $30,000 for any single asset. New limits have been lifted up to $150,000 provided the asset is ready for operation by 30 June 2020 for business whose turnover is less than $500 million.... Granted in "COVID 19" days, most small business are thinking survival rather than spending. Most simply couldnt afford to spend extra cash. Who can afford to go into further debt? The governments new stimulus package of guaranteeing unsecured small business loans up to $250,000 could help entice businesses into spending. What is the government trying to achieve by this? 1. Bring tax relief at EOFY 2. Stimulate the economy Will this help your business?

20.01.2022 Why are tax invoices so important? As a bookkeeper I often ask for receipts/tax invoices and very often I receive a comment - its on the statement, why cant you use that? Annoying as it is, sighting of tax invoices are due to the GST Laws which are in place. No GST can be claimed unless the business has a tax invoice (in their files at the time of claiming). ... Until the GST laws came into place, you could have your tax submitted, simply by going through your bank statements and working out Income and Expenses. The changes int he GST Laws require businesses to have and keep tax invoices on hand for auditing purposes.
