21.01.2022 Happy birthday to Owner-Manager Josephine Tan who celebrated another year younger (in spirit). We also received surprise complimentary coffees from our favourite local cafe Cocobei and enjoyed a delicious crepe cake by Mille & B .

21.01.2022 This morning at the BOQ NAIDOC gathering, we acknowledged the traditional owners of the Wurundjeri people of the land on which we had the meeting and pay respects to the Elders past present and emerging. Celebrating NAIDOC week in Melbourne this afternoon at 120 Collins Street, many turned up to listen to Ian Hunter, an elder of the Wurundjeri people, tell us stories of his people and touched on the "voices, treaty and truth" of the indigenous people. He gave us a rendition o...n the didgeridoo and threw in a few jokes. It was wonderful to hear stories about his forefathers and mothers and sad to hear that most of them have lost their language although they know the meaning of some words, most do not speak it as there are more than 300 dialects amongst the indigenous people. It is interesting to know where many names of towns are derived from such as Nar Nar Goon or Narre Warren. The word 'wurun' is derived from the eucalptus tree and the word 'djerii' are the grubs are found under the tree. You learn something new everyday!

17.01.2022 Our recent Chinese New Year event with Colliers International on 12th February was held at luxury fashion boutique @Harroldsaus on Collins Street with guest speakers Peter Munckton, BOQ Economist, Mark Pomeroy, CEO at Pomeroy Pacific, and Daniel Wolman, Director of Melbourne City Sales & Investment Services at Colliers who provided insight on Melbourne's property market, financial landscape and the banking environment. OMB Josephine Tan talked about what the Year of the Pig had in store and how important it was to have a financial health check so that you are on track to meet your goals for your financial future. Everyone also enjoyed the lion dance which was a fun way to greet the new year.

17.01.2022 Today we are highlighting one of our favourite businesses here in The District Docklands Shopping Precinct which is Parisi Foods! Run by Nick and Tina Parisi, Parisi Foods is a family run business with a love for quality produce. They pack and sell nuts, dried fruits, legumes, herbs, and spices from Australia and the around the world. To help you get to know them better, we stopped by to ask them a few questions about their business!... Q: When did you start Parisi Foods and why? A: We started the business because we are passionate about high quality, natural produce and wanted to share the happiness that good food brings us. We opened shop in 2010 on Queen Street opposite Queen Victoria Market and moved to District Docklands in August 2016 due to the development of the market. Since then we have been selling to the public as well as wholesaling to restaurants, cafes and resellers. Q: What kind of food do you specialise in and what do you recommend? A: Our point of difference is that we sell mostly Australian produce. In particular, our customers love our Australian nuts such as Tasmanian walnuts, macadamias and almonds. Q: Why do you choose to bank with BOQ Docklands? A: Helpful staff and conveniently located.

16.01.2022 The District Docklands Shopping Precinct has transformed into a winter wonderland with its 15-metre ice slide! A gold coin donation is charged for every slide which goes towards Kids Under Cover a charity that combats youth homelessness. Junn and her family tried it out over the weekend. Have you tried it out yet?

15.01.2022 Today we celebrated our owner-manager, Josephine Tan's 15 years with BOQ and 10 years in The District Docklands location with staff Belinda, Junn, Jennifer, Melissa and Russell from head office. All celebrations call for food and flowers. We ordered some Malaysian food and sushi from one of our customers The Rice Cooker including hokkien noodles, curry chicken, nasi lemak, and beef rendang, spring rolls as well as a beautiful anniversary cake from Amour Desserts . After th...e food, we did some team building exercises which included a quiz and an "unlock the parcel" game which was won by Jennifer and Josephine. Josephine did some beautiful ikebana arrangements for the branch and for the staff to take home. All in all, a fantastic day to remember our 15 years with BOQ despite VIC lockdown as we made sure we are masked safe and social distancing while we were eating and playing. This year we celebrated the end of year festivities at Bistrot D'orsay We wish you and your families a well deserved and relaxing break. We too will be taking a break on the 25th and 26th and will be back open on Friday the 27th of December. Thank you to our brilliant customers for your business and support and we hope to see you in the new year!

06.01.2022 In the spirit of Anzac day, staff and customers of the bank attended an Anzac day luncheon event at Crown Paladium sponsored by BOQ. Guest speakers were Harry Moffitt, former SAS team commander, AFL legends Leigh Matthews and Matthew Lloyd, as well as 101 year old WW2 veteran Jack Bell who has authored a book 'Jack Bell's War' about his experience as an Australian airman during that time. Compassion, tolerance and respect are values he talked about being the most important to live by and the ones we should pass along to future generations. Lest we forget those who fought and lost their lives for our freedom.

05.01.2022 Happy birthday to Junn who has been with our Docklands branch since day 1. We celebrated with Korean fried chicken and a delicious durian cake made by Er Rin from Amour Desserts! Yum!

04.01.2022 We witnessed the Uniqlo Australia Docklands store grand opening today in The District Docklands Shopping Precinct . Great atmosphere with Uniqlo staff handing out free Lune Croissanterie croissants and taiko drums. Owner-Manager, Josephine, and artists from the Ikebana Ohara School in Melbourne also created two flower arrangements especially for the opening.

04.01.2022 No better way to start a Monday than with fresh flowers to liven up the office! This is an Ikebana floral arrangement by our Owner-Manager Josephine who is an artist with the Ohara School of Ikebana International/Melbourne.
