20.01.2022 AAT success! One of our toughest cases, to prove that our male client was the victim of domestic violence perpetrated by his female partner. Unfortunately, gender stereotypes come into play, and it is commonly perceived that a man cannot be at the receiving end of domestic violence. We believed our client's claims were genuine and persevered to prove so to the AAT. Finally, we can rest assured, justice has been served

16.01.2022 We have received many enquiries from clients regarding the proposed amendments to citizenship requirements. These reforms will include: -Requiring all applicants to pass a stand-alone English test, involving reading, writing, listening and speaking; -Requiring applicants to have lived in Australia as a permanent resident for at least four years (instead of one year at present); -Strengthening the citizenship test itself with new and more meaningful questions that assess an ...applicant's understanding of - and commitment to - our shared values and responsibilities; -Requiring applicants to show the steps they have taken to integrate into and contribute to the Australian community. Examples would include evidence of employment, membership of community organisations and school enrolment for all eligible children. -Limiting the number of times an applicant can fail the citizenship test to three (at present there is no limit to the number of times an applicant can fail the test); -Introducing an automatic fail for applicants who cheat during the citizenship test. Contact us on 02 9791 5392 to discuss your citizenship application.

15.01.2022 #1 Carer Visa Approved ! Rania is an elderly lady who is suffering from heart problems and mobility, and is unable to care for herself. We gathered all the supporting documentation, and applied for a carer visa for Rania's daughter, after receiving a satisfactory assessment from Bupa, and she was granted a carer visa within half the standard processing time.

14.01.2022 Our client was holding a Bridging Visa E after his student visa was cancelled. He was in a relationship and came to us for assistance with his partner visa application. 02.01.2022 ALERT: CHANGES TO THE PARTNER VISAS The new change will require the Australian partner to lodge their Australian sponsorship application first and have this approved before the partner visa application can be lodged. This change will take place before 10 June 2019.... What is the impact? Some of the impacts will be that partner visa applicants with limited time remaining on their current visa will be required to either lodge a valid visa application that will allow them to stay in Australia or depart Australia and remain overseas until the partner visa is granted. Until the visa application is lodged whilst in Australia, the applicant will NOT be entitled to a Bridging Visa A, medicare and full working rights. Call us on (02) 9791 5392 for a consultation to lodge your partner visa application on time without being affected by the upcoming changes.

He was employed by the Intelligence Forces in his home country, and was receiving threats from his hierarchies due to his refusal to accept and participate in government corruption. He came to discover that his hierarchies were plotting his abduction. We applied for an Onshore Protection visa, which was refused by the Department. However we persevered and appealed the refusal at the Tribunal, and won the appeal. He and his family are all living peacefully in Australia, and have proven to be successful in their careers.
