24.01.2022 Hi all - quick update on re-opening! We appreciate restrictions are being relaxed on 6 June and we are preparing to reopen ASAP. Before we can re-open, we are required to have Cockburn Council take a water sample and send it to the lab for testing. We are trying to get them in asap this week for the water sample, as the lab can take 3 days. ... We have also asked our teachers to be ready to return. Some went home for lockdown to regional WA so will need to travel back. Subject to those things, we will be able to confirm a date shortly. We will email all parents of enrolled students as soon as the date is confirmed. Thanks for your patience and support throughout this time. We are so excited to see you all!

22.01.2022 Dear parents, We understand you have questions about the return of swimming. The WA government has announced that swimming pools can reopen in stage 2, but with strict limitations. ... Following careful consideration of the requirements and consultation with industry bodies, we confirm that we will wait until stage 3 (June) to reopen, because we cant operate effectively or safely within the stage 2 restrictions. Naturally your childrens safety is our priority around water. Under stage 2, we would be limited to a maximum of 20 customers (students and children) at any one time, which would mean choosing which students can come and which cant. In maintaining the 4sq metre rule we would only be allowed 15 persons in the pool. This would mean our double stream days could not run with any parent & child classes. But most importantly, no contact is allowed, and social distancing must be maintained. This is fine for advanced/squad swimmers, but does not allow us to properly discharge our duty of care to the majority of our children, who are babies and beginners. We cannot maintain a distance of 1.5 metres from any of our young swimmers for safety reasons. Stage 2 also requires that change rooms must be closed, which we appreciate would be hugely impractical for parents with young children. We dont feel that parents will get real value for their money in this very restricted environment, and we are not going to compromise on the quality of learn to swim that we provide. So, we are actively planning for a return in Stage 3 instead (June) when we can offer a safe learn to swim environment! Bring bub along to be minded by our volunteers by the side of the pool Pool Play after class for bub is an optional extra which involves 20 mins of developmental play to nursery rhymes. This is suited for babies 8weeks to 12 months All of our classes are run in hydrotherapy pools, making it that little bit easier to get out the door and in the pool As usual, a Womens Health Physiotherapist assessment is a pre-requisite to attending our classes. 04.01.2022 We absolutely love receiving feedback like this. Our primary goal is to just get our kids swimming and safe around water. If your child falls in can they save themselves? We have set ourselves the target of saving as many kids as we can with our small class sizes and simple lesson plans. #saveyourselfby2 ‘Alexia has been attending Born 2 swim for just over 12 weeks. When she started she liked being around water but was afraid to be splashed or get her face anywhere near the ...water. Her confidence during the time she has been attending is nothing but amazing! She absolute loves swimming and has gone from a girl who would cry if water landed on her face to collecting sinkers from the bottom of the pool with little help. Her amazing teacher Shannon can take much of the credit for this, her patients, understanding, encouragement plus the fact she is always smiling has made Alexia fall in Love with the water. See more
