15.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW? | FIRST PREMIERSHIP & SIR GILBERT CHANDLER Boronia won it's first premiership in 1932 in the Mountain District Football League. The captain of ...the side of Sir Gilbert Chandler (pictured sitting with the football) who went on to become a Boronia life member, Eastern Football Netball League life member and the EFNL Premier Division league best and fairest award is named in his honour. Sir Gilbert, played one game for Hawthorn in the VFL in 1928 but also had a successful career in government, was a part of the organising committee for the 1956 Melbourne Olympics and was Chairman of the Melbourne Cricket Ground!

14.01.2022 SAFETY ALERT AT TORMORE RESERVE @Knox City Council will be using Tormore Reserve as a temporary works depot for approximately 6 weeks from today. The actual wo...rks are being done at another site but Tormore will be used for parking, storage etc. All club members who use Tormore for personal exercise and recreation should use care and caution due to the likely movement of heavy vehicles during the day throughout the oval and surrounds. Thanks to Phil Watson for the tip off and to Greg Hannon for checking with council.

14.01.2022 Boronia Hawks are always grateful for the wonderful support from Cr Peter Lockwood in developing our facilities at Tormore Reserve. The installation of the playground, BBQ area, seating, pathways, fitness stations and basketball court have enhanced the reserve as a fantastic, family-friendly park. Then we have the installation of lights and nets behind the goals to be followed by new boxes. Great work Peter!

09.01.2022 AFL Victoria has released updated protocols that identify the requirements to enable sporting clubs to return to training activities. The EFNL is keeping the Club fully informed on these matters, and the Club's Board is making appropriate preparations. IN THE MEANTIME, THERE IS TO BE NO TRAINING CONDUCTED BY TEAMS REPRESENTING BORONIA HAWKS. The Club's Board and Committees will advise when this can commence, but it will be subject to strict compliance with all state government, local government and EFNL requirements. Individual exercise may continue in accordance with Victorian Government guidelines in respect of COVID compliance.

With two ex...perienced coaches already on board for 2021, the club welcomes expressions of interest from inexperienced candidates who will be well supported and given the opportunity to develop in this role. In fact Lauren has scored over 1,000 goals in her last two seasons and will spearhead the Hawks team in Premier Division in 2021! 02.01.2022 DEVELOPMENT OF GENDER EQUITY ACTION PLAN A working group of sixteen Club members got together last night via Zoom to launch the development of the Club's Gender... Equity Action Plan. The people involved represented all aspects of the Club's operations and each recognised the benefits that flow on from the effective and equitable participation and integration of girls and women across the Club. Many thanks to Karen Little and Scott Nicholas for their work in drafting the action plan.
