21.01.2022 The Summer Tough Training Camp is an intensive 4-day program designed for junior tournament players 11 to 16 years of age. The day will consist of intensive drilling in the mornings, and organized match play in the afternoons. This is a great opportunity to learn and train under the experienced coaches from the Boroondara coaching team. Numbers for this initiative are restricted to a maximum of 24 players, so enrol now and give your game the extra lift! The following Boroonda...ra Tennis Centre Coaches will be involved: Warren Maher: Warren has been Director of Tennis at the Centre for over 20 years following a lifelong involvement in tennis as a player on the professional circuit, a coach and manager. Jarryd Maher: Former ATP ranked singles and doubles player. Coaches and works with WTA/ATP ranked players, and has a Diploma in Fitness and Bachelor of Psychological Science. Rob Phillips: Former ATP ranked singles and doubles player. Coaches and works with WTA/ATP ranked players. BTC Academy Head Coach and organiser/coach of all Academy programs. Beti Sekulovski: Former WTA ranked singles and doubles player. Currently coaches WTA ranked tennis players. Worked for Tennis Australia with our country’s top WTA players. Jason Yap: Has competed on the ITF junior circuit around the world. Jason runs his own fitness training company and offers sessions at the Centre. Dave King: Is a fully qualified coach with over 25 years’ coaching experience. He is the Centre’s full-time Senior Coach and Programs’ Manager, being involved in all coaching programs at the Centre. 07.01.2022 Update on Friday Night Junior Competition and Modified Match Play. Restrictions and protocols are in place. Friday Night Junior Competition... Dear Friday Night Junior Competition Players and Parents. Great to see the kids back on the court this week for term 4 coaching. Friday Night Junior Competition will commence again next year early February 2021. As we finished the season before lockdown, we have decided to align our summer season to terms 1 and 2 and the winter season to Terms 3 and 4. What we will offer for the next six weeks starting Friday 13th November at 6 pm is a series of organised match play events with a different theme each week with weekly prizes and trophies at the end of the series. The first week our theme is a doubles round robin. An excellent way for the kids to get back into match play and blow off some cobwebs. The cost will be $20 per player each week that can be paid before play at BTC reception. To enrol your child, please email [email protected] or call the centre 9850 4500 by Thursday 12th November. I will send out an email each week with the details of the upcoming match play theme. Our goal is to create a positive and supportive environment for the kids to develop their playing potential and to have fun with their peers. Modified Match Play For all modified match play parents and players. We will be starting our modified match play on Friday 13th at 4.30 pm to 6 pm. The cost is still $16 per play payable at BTC reception. To enrol your child, please email [email protected] or call the centre 9850 4500. Owen will be supervising each session again for this term. The dates will be Friday 13th, 20th and 27th November and 4th, 11th and 18th of December. BTC has a detailed Covid-19 plan in place at the centre. Keep your social distance; all visitors and players to the centre must wear a mask except when playing on the court and each person arriving at the centre must sign in using our QR code or sign-in book.
