23.01.2022 Another road train heading for Ravensthorpe Nickel mine expansion project

22.01.2022 HAVE YOU SEEN THE DEVASTATION ON HIGH ST? I went down to see it for myself and it made me very angry. As you will know, I have been a staunch advocate for Roe 8... because it will not only remove thousands of trucks and cars from local roads, it is a critical piece of economic infrastructure for Western Australia. In fact, it is a road of national significance. As part of its response to cancelling Roe 8, the McGowan Government is building an expensive $118 million round-about at the corner of High St and Stirling Hwy. This will not remove one car or one truck from the existing road network. This project has resulted in the removal of 67 critically endangered Tuart Trees some of which were 100 years old. You may remember that when the previous Barnett Government was investigating an upgrade in this part of the road network, members of Forest Rescue promised to build tree platforms and a sit-in protest if there was any hint of a bulldozer. They promised an aggressive non-violent campaign that even included a sit-in at the Transport Ministers office. Fast forward to today and the McGowan Government has butchered 67 critically endangered Tuart Trees, and unbelievably we have not heard one word from the activists. Theyve now disappeared and all I hear are crickets.

13.01.2022 Another day in paradise

13.01.2022 Volvo Trucks has delivered the first FH Globetrotter LNG (liquified natural gas) tractor units into operation with Gregory Distribution Ltd. The South West-base...d distribution and logistics business will initially operate seven LNG-powered Volvos from its Bristol site. Key to securing the order was Volvo’s unique approach to natural gas engine technology, using small amounts of diesel to initiate ignition of the air-fuel mixture. Andrew Chapple, Head of Fleet, Property and Procurement for Gregory Distribution, says: We are continually looking for ways to improve environmental performance across every area of our business. We ran trials with 44-tonne gas trucks from two manufacturers, and we found the Volvo FH to be the best fit for our business." Full story https://bit.ly/3drlnFM
