24.01.2022 A busy day on the books for the BOS team yesterday; flushing and freezing embryos from 8 donor cows from two studs based in Gingin. The glorious weather made the long day a little easier to bear along with the successful results. Unfortunately the rate of degenerate embryos to viable embryos was much higher than hoped for, with the only change to programming being the worst storm of the Decade. This is evidence of the effects environment or sudden or uncomfortable changes can have on reproductive cycles, especially delicate cycles such as super ovulation. The viable embryos collected were frozen down and will be implanted into recipient cows later in the season!
