08.01.2022 **EVENT UPDATE** We regret to advise that our much loved Botanic to Bridge event will be taking the year off in 2020. This is a safety precaution in response to COVID-19, as the community’s health and safety remains our highest priority.... BUT.. don’t put the running shoes away just yet, as we have decided to repurpose the event, today announcing the ‘Active August’ campaign to ensure we can continue to support the community during these challenging times. Running over the entire month of August, the B2B team have taken a creative angle in the wake of COVID-19 restrictions. We’re hoping everyone brings their a-game this year, by utilising GPC’s parklands including East Shores Precinct, Spinnaker Park and our beautiful Gladstone Marina Parklands, wearing your brightest active wear and transforming Active August into a festival of fun and colour! We’re also pleased to announce that we’ll continue to financially support our local schools and call for a community beneficiary. To ensure the safety of participants and the community, the following roads will be closed on Sunday, 18 August. * 5am - 9:45am Glenlyon Rd from Victoria Pde to Dixon Dr * 5am - 10:00am Glenlyon Rd from Dixon Dr to Tank St * 5am - 10:30am Ferris St from Glenlyon Rd to Goondoon St * 5:00am - 10:30am Goondoon St from Ferris St to Lord St * 5:00am - 10:30am Lord St from Goondoon St to Glenlyon Rd * 5:00am - 10:30am Bryan Jordan Dr from Lord St to Yacht Club PARKING Free parking for the 8km event is at the car park beside the Tondoon Botanic Gardens. The carpark will close at 7:00am and reopen after 8km race starts. Free parking for the 3km event is at the Gladstone Showgrounds. Enter via Tank Street. FREE B2B SHUTTLE BUS Free B2B shuttle busses will be available from CQUniversity Gladstone Marina Campus to transport participants to the 8km and 3km race starting points before and after the race between 5:30am and approximately 11:00am.
