25.01.2022 Hello to all my gorgeous Families and little people. I hope everyone is well and for those of you who returned back to school this week, that you are enjoying resuming a more typical routine. I just want to update on my services and my plan moving forward. ... Firstly, I want to say that your and your family's health and safety are my upmost concern and focus. With this in mind, I have decided to continue online Telehealth services until at least the end of Week 3 of term 2. This will allow SA Health data to be collected to ensure there remains little/no community spread post the return to school. As a mobile service I typically travel and work in a range of community settings: schools, kindergartens, child care centres and private homes, this increases the risk of exposure and transmission. I want to ensure this risk is minimised as much as possible before resuming my usual service. I am constantly assessing the situation and when I'm comfortable it is safe to resume face to face services, I'll be in contact with you each to confirm appointment times. In the meantime, Please feel free to contact me if you need anything at all or wish to discuss any current concerns or issues you might be having with your little person. Take Care and Keep well, Anna xx

25.01.2022 As you make decisions about returning to school or schooling from home.... dont judge others and do whats right for you, your family and loved ones. Remember we all have different situations and circumstances, seen or unseen.

25.01.2022 A gorgeous Nature based fine motor and visual perceptual activity. The added bonus is that connecting with nature and sending time outdoors reduces stress and anxiety. Thanks Sensory Stuck at home.

24.01.2022 Reframing our words can be very powerful.

24.01.2022 Every financial year NDIS reviews their pricing and supports. This is a great summary of the changes and what it means for participants. I will be notifying families of any changes to their current service arrangements shortly.

24.01.2022 I will keep saying this, we are not home schooling, we are Crisis schooling. We do not automatically become teachers - teachers spend years studying and building experience to be good at what they do. First and foremost, you are a parent. Dont lose sight of that. Your relationship with your child is more important than any math problem, work sheet or project. ... Xx

24.01.2022 Friday Feels for all my parents and caregivers Thank you for your wise words Madhavi

23.01.2022 Thanks again The Growing Space for sharing this important information for clients due for a plan review.

22.01.2022 Thank you Two Way Street!

22.01.2022 This time of year can be very triggering for little people. Be kind to them and yourself.

22.01.2022 This is great advice from Madhavi regarding Class placements - especially this week when a lot of children and their families are finding out where they will be next year.

22.01.2022 What an awesome fine motor and hand-eye coordination activity that has an olfactory (smell) component and exposes little ones to different foods and textures.

21.01.2022 For my little people with Auditory Processing challenges in the classroom and dont want to appear different by wearing headphones, these might be a good option.

20.01.2022 A great resource to share

20.01.2022 This is a fabulous article explaining that explains parents/caregivers are not home schooling at the moment- you are Crisis Schooling and that is COMPLETELY different. Be kind to yourself and your little people. This is not a normal situation.

19.01.2022 To all my parents and caregivers panicking about the upcoming return to school.

19.01.2022 Your little persons privacy and security when using online interfacing is my absolute priority. I am pleased to announced that I can now offer Telehealth sessions using Coviu. This Australian developed and based service ensures that I am meeting the stringent security and privacy requirements for a health practitioner. I would like to start intro come and try sessions with any family as of tomorrow. This is a very different way of working (Im still getting used to it to...o) and it wont suit everyone, so Id like to try short 5-10 mins sessions to see if it will work for you and your little person. If you are interested, please email me at [email protected] or text me 0419 189 620 with possible suitable times and Ill confirm an appointment time and provide more information about how Telehealth and Coviu. Looking forward to seeing you soon. Thanks, Anna

19.01.2022 Im all for getting little people away from screens and connecting with nature- this looks fabulous.! Canoeing is a fabulous proprioceptive activity for supporting regulation and developing upper body and core strength! Thanks for sharing Mark Le Messurier.

19.01.2022 It’s important to remember that little people innately want to do the right thing but often don’t know how. Telling them not to do something doesn’t give them the information they need in order to change their behaviour.

19.01.2022 So, in preparation for lockdown, I went to Big W today to look at cheap therapy resources for home programs. If you are thinking you would like a home program and/or Telehealth sessions, having access to some of the following items would be helpful. Ive included price tags. I would recommend having at least: ... a gym ball ($12) A foam roller ($8) 1 kg toning balls ($10) I can build great motor and/or sensory programs using these pieces of equipment. See more

16.01.2022 I know several little people who will think this is awesome! Enjoy!

16.01.2022 More updates from NDIS c/o The Growing Space.

15.01.2022 On a lighter note... I know toilet paper is a valuable commodity at the moment but lets made the empty toilet rolls feel valuable as well I really like the cats!

15.01.2022 Good morning everyone, Just letting you know that my mobile is currently unavailable so please contact me via email if you need anything prior to 1.00pm today. After this time, I will be contactable using my mobile again. Many thanks, Anna

15.01.2022 For my families who are already self isolating.

14.01.2022 To all my beautiful families and little people, I have been carefully monitoring our situation in Adelaide regarding the Corona virus. The situation is changing by the hour but I hope to have an email out to you by tomorrow to explain options for ongoing support in these constantly changing times. ... Keep well. Xx Anna

14.01.2022 To help keep everyone safe, plase let me know if you or any of your family/close friends are possible contacts. Please, let’s keep looking after our SA community - your honestly and transparency is greatly appreciated and will help me keep all my families and my own safe and well.

13.01.2022 This is something for both the adults and little people. Xx

13.01.2022 Vestibular (movement) and deep pressure are too god the most powerful senses to use for regulation. Hammocks are an awesome way of receiving this input. These do-it-yourself indoors ones are fabulous!

12.01.2022 This is for my gorgeous dedicated super families.. I see you. Xx

11.01.2022 Good to remember when our own energy levels are so low at this time of the year.

10.01.2022 My creative, expressive, artistic little people- this looks like it could be a fantastic way to develop your skills, confidence & have fun over the school holidays. I love that they also have a buddy system for those that wouldn’t normally be able to afford to attend.

09.01.2022 I know there is a lot of anxiety regarding upcoming NDIS plan reviews. Here is the very latest communication from NDIS. If you have any questions, please ring your local office.

09.01.2022 This is an excellent article -Thank you Maggie! In my sessions I constantly construct situations of winning and losing to help my little (and not so little) people learn to feel and manage their feelngs of disappointment in a supportive and constructive environment. It is SO important we don’t avoid these unpleasant experiences - we have to embrace and utilise them to help our little people learn to appropriately manage their emotions.

09.01.2022 With messages and restrictions like this is can be hard to stay positive. But, Just keep reminding yourself and your little person, its to keep them and their loved ones safe. This is not forever!

08.01.2022 Free downloadable art for colouring in! This one can be for the adults as well as the little people in the house. Thank you Jane Donaldson.

08.01.2022 This is a fabulous local toy store based in Port Adelaide and with 30% off, Im headed there ASAP!

08.01.2022 Now that the colder wet weather has hit Adelaide, remember this......

08.01.2022 This popped up on my feed today. I love it - so OT and Occupation focussed! When schools do close down remember this and please contact me if you need any help in implementing age appropriate activities for your little person.

08.01.2022 To my dear families, Due to the recent updates regarding the Coronavirus, after much consideration, I have decided to suspend face to face home visits to minimise risks to you and the community as a whole. It is so important to keep people as safe as possible at this time. ... I am working as quickly as I can to set up secure telemedicine/practice via the NDIS recommended platform - Coviu. I'll be in contact as soon as I am up and running. Ill be posting more regularly on Facebook to keep everyone up to date. I wish you all ongoing good health and remember to be kind and take care of one another during this challenging time. Many thanks, Anna bounceintolife!OT

07.01.2022 This is why I feel so sad that swings have been removed from many schools...and encourage families to have them at home - brilliant for helping with the end of day meltdown!

07.01.2022 Two successful Couvi come and try sessions today with a total of 4 little people wanting to continue working with me via this platform!

06.01.2022 Great tip from The Growing Space!

06.01.2022 Back to school/the start of school today! Wishing all my little people, especially the ones having their very first day at school, a successful day. Wishing all my parents/caregivers a day where you can enjoy a moment of peace and quiet. I know some are particularly looking forward to today!... My tips for the first day back : - Adults: allow yourself permission to take a moment to sit and relax. Enjoy a hot coffee/drink either by yourself or with a friend. - Remember, your little person will be tired and probably have difficulty regulating their emotions after a big day. - In the car for pick up have a healthy/favourite snack & cold water. - I know this one is really hard for many of us, but don’t ask too many questions as soon as your little person pops in the car. This may be overwhelming and trigger a meltdown/emotional dis-regulation in a tired, over stimulated little person. Give them a quiet moment to eat their snack, have a cold drink and recover. You can say to them I can imagine that you’re tired after today. When you are ready, I’d love to hear about your day. This may take 5 mins or hours, and that’s okay, go with what your little person needs. I’ll look forward to seeing all my little people and families soon. I’ll be contacting parents, schools and teachers to organise the least disruptive and most convenient times for our sessions over the next few days. Warm regards, Anna

04.01.2022 Thanks for sharing Mark Le Messurier

04.01.2022 Thanks Mark!! I think we all need this at this time of the year, especially given all the challenges of 2020 !!

03.01.2022 Does your little person struggle to wear shoes? A parent of a gorgeous little person who has lots of sensitivities found these are the only shoes that she will tolerate.

01.01.2022 Thanks Mark!! I think we all need this at this time of the year, especially given all the challenges of 2020 !!
