09.01.2022 Nobel Prize-winning psychologist, economist and author Daniel Kahneman's ground-breaking research focuses on how we make decisions and how to influence behaviour. His model describes two systems of thinking that complement each other but are very different. When we understand these two systems of thinking we can better understand ourselves and our clients. System 1 is 98% of all our thinking. It's unconcious, reactive, it uses repetition to form habits and it doesn't use much... energy. System 2 is 2% of all our thinking. It's concious, reflective, rational and logical thinking. It needs energy to work effectively. System 1 & 2 Thinking forms a large part of our training programs. When we dive deeply to understand into how the brain functions to help us think and behave we understand why we make the decisions and choices we do. 02.01.2022 "There are no jobs!" How often do you hear that? Right now, it's probably a very common statement your clients are making - we like to call them "generalisations." If you're finding that your clients are slipping into patterns of generalising, these can form limiting beliefs that can become really hard roadblocks to shift. Instead of asking "Why do you think that?" - try asking one of these questions instead:... 1. How do you know that there are no jobs? 2. Where have you looked for a job? 3. If there were jobs to apply for, what would you like to do?" Get curious with your clients and instead of asking why - try asking what, how and what if style questions.
