25.01.2022 As advertised, this week the Junior Rugby League Clubs of Bowral, Moss Vale and Robertson held Special General Meetings to vote on creating a new Southern Highlands Junior Rugby League Club. This motion was approved, voted unanimously by all Clubs. The committees of each founding club will act as a steering committee for the new club until office bearers are appointed at the AGM in October. This Sunday 15th September at 3pm the first Meeting of the new Club will be held at th...e Bowral Bowling Club. All members, players and interested parties are invited to attend. This meeting will have a number of agenda items, the most notable will be reviewing the constitution and by laws, distributing nomination forms for office bearers, finalising brand options and setting the date for the AGM. The formation of this new club is a very exciting venture for Junior Rugby League in the Highlands. The emphasis is to combine the excellent resources of all founding clubs, to create a premium product for Rugby League in the Highlands, that provides a fun environment where children are encouraged to participate and learn. 14.01.2022 STORM PLAYER INTERVIEW #3 Brothers FS and OS... Q: How long have you played RL? A: I have been playing Rugby League since I was 4 years old, so 9 years.... 5 years, I started when I was 4. Q: Why do you love the game? A: Because its lots of fun and I get to play with my mates. I like Tackling and running with the ball, I also like scoring tries Q: What excites you about being part of the Highlands Storm next year? A: The Storm is a really good NRL club, and it will be great to be a part of a larger club. We will have a lot more players, and we will have a solid A’s and B’s Team Q: What are your RL goals next year? A: To try and get into a rep team, and to help my club team have a good season To try and make the 10A’s team Q: What would you say to someone about joining our club and playing for the Storm? 12.01.2022 At the Group 6 Senior AGM held yesterday, the Highlands Storm application to join the competition in the 2020 season was voted in by all Group 6 Clubs, and affi...liation was accepted. The next Highlands Storm Senior General Meeting will be next Monday 11th November at 5:30pm. The venue is Loseby Park Clubhouse in Bowral. Membership forms will be available on the night. the membership fee is $10. The Executive Committee (as voted in at the last general meeting) is: Chair Person: Peter Howard Deputy Chair: Peter McGuiness Executive Officer: Andrew Hicks Director- Finance: Les Lowden Director- Football Operations: Mark Williams We are now calling for expression of interest from coaches. In 2020 the Highlands Storm will be fielding sides in Mens Grade, Womens Tackle and Under 18's. Interest in the Storm Club has been very high, and we welcome all interested persons to apply. This is a super talented side, and well deserved Grand Finalists!... Coach Rob Gallina has had great success with this team over the years, and this year he will have them as ready as ever! 09.01.2022 Bowral Kookaburras AGM As advertised at our presentation day, the AGM for the Bowral Junior Rugby League Club will be held on Monday 14th October at 5.30pm at the Loseby Park Clubhouse. All current financial members are invited to attend.

04.01.2022 More Great Representative News for the Mighty Bowral kookaburras! Congratulations to Hannah and Alliyah for their selection in the Group 6 Under 14 GLT Invitational Team! Both girls have been Super Stars for our club this season, and their selection is thoroughly deserved! ... Go the Kookaburras!

03.01.2022 This picture is the calm before the storm!! Congratulations to our mighty Under 14 side, victorious in today’s Grand Final against a very spirited Camden outfit! Bowral has had the wood on Camden all year, but as expected all that goes out the window on Grand Final day.... The Camden team turned up today, playing like true Grand Final contenders and pushing Bowral to the limit. The score was locked at 18 all at full time pushing the game into extra time, with all those heart breaking fitness sessions paying off in a Bowral victory 32-18! Coach Rob Gallina has done an exceptional job with this team, and deservedly commands their respect. All of the team have developed and come so far. A special mention goes to Christian Gallina, Best Player on the field today, and Group 6 14b’s player of the year! Grand Finals can be few and far between for most players, so enjoy the win lads! Go the Kookaburras!

03.01.2022 A massive shout out goes to former Bowral Kookaburra Juniors Matt Abela, Darcy and Jack Howard! These three young men represented Chevalier at the Combined Independence Schools Rugby Under 18's League Trial. From these trials Jack and Darcy were selected into the initial CIS squad to attend a three day camp last weekend at the Sydney Academy of Spirit at Narrabeen. ... They then played a selection trial game last Monday night against North Sydney combined Jersey Flegg, SG Ball and Harold Matt's Rep team, with both players scoring tries! From this game they were asked to play in a final trial against a Parramatta Junior side. The squad was cut down to 25 players. Including 3 Under 18 Origin Players who just returned from playing Queensland in the curtain raiser last Wednesday night. After this game on Monday the final NSW Combined Independence School Team was announced to play at the Australian School Boy’s Championships in July. Darcy was selected in this elite group of players, and will proudly represent CIS, Chevalier and the mighty Bowral Kookaburras at these Championships! Well done lads! And go the Kookaburras!
