08.01.2022 Exotic Avocado Salad Shopping list from box divvy Avo $1.97ea... Pumpkin $3.40ea Papaya $3.54ea Lime $0.79ea Mint $1.70ea Watercress$2.04ea Ingredients: 2 tbsp pumpkin seeds 1 ripe papaya 1 ripe avocado 50g watercress 50g Mint Juice of half of lime 1 tsp olive oil Method: STEP 1 Dry-fry the pumpkin seeds in a frying pan for a few minutes, tossing and turning them until they look toasted. Tip them out of the pan and let them go cold. Peel the papayas, halve them lengthways and scoop out the seeds. Cut the flesh into long, thin slices. Halve the avocados and remove the stones, then peel off the skin and slice the flesh lengthways into thin slices. STEP 2 Put the papayas, avocados, pumpkin seeds and watercress into a large bowl. Chop about 1 tbsp of the mint leaves and set aside. Pick the remaining leaves from the stalks and tear them into the bowl. STEP 3 Mix the lime juice and olive oil with the rest of the chopped mint to make a dressing, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Pour over the salad and gently mix all the ingredients together with your hands. Taste and add more salt and pepper if you think it needs it, then transfer to a serving platter.

03.01.2022 New Season Delights Whilst Blueberries have temporarily tightened up, try some delicious Blackberries instead. Surprisingly sweet! Meanwhile our regular strawbe...rry grower near Monbulk in Vic is taking a break in between patches which gives us a chance to try out some of the more premium berries. They’re extra large, super-sweet and around $3.40 per punnet. Depending on the feedback, we may continue with this more premium fruit even after the regular berries have returned. Let us know what you think... Can you get a bigger Flavour Bomb than lychees? They’re only just starting, but they pack a punch. Still $23/Kg, but they will drop in the lead-up to Christmas.

03.01.2022 Some good news on the market today Blueberries: back under $4 a punnet as supply gets back to normal Both red and white grapes have dropped to around $7/kg and $8/Kg respectively and more to come... Apricots are the pick of the stonefruit crop, dropping to under $5/Kg and the quality is superb But we’re happiest with the drop in cherry prices: loose cherries are now under $10/Kg and should stay there for a few weeks until the lead-up to Christmas
