22.01.2022 This week we have a different apple called Modi. the Modi apple was named after Italian artist Amedeo Clemente Modigliani who made his fame in part by a series of portraits of elongated faces (like the one below minus the apple). Born in Livorno in 1884, he spent his formative years in Montparnasse, Paris among contemporaries like Picasso, Matisse, de Toulouse-Lautrec. He was penniless for most of his life (one of his paintings sold in 2015 for $170m) and suffered from ill ...health (he had bouts of pleurisy and tuberculosis) which eventually killed him at age 36. His grief-stricken (and pregnant) wife Beatrice, who appeared in some 20 portraits, threw herself out of a window and died the following day. During his time in Paris, Modigliani became known as Modi. The abbreviation translates from French as ‘cursed’. So, if you had invented a new apple, and you wanted something dramatic to name it after, you could do a lot worse than Modi. Dramatic or not, we think the Modi has intense flavour, is very crisp and super-sweet. And amazingly (thanks to a cancelled export order), it’s one of the best-value apples on offer right now, at just over $3/Kg. See more

This 400g cob is fun to eat as is, but even better fun when hollowed out and filled with a pumpkin dip. It’s available this week only for just $4.94 (Shepherds sell it online for $6).... Ingredients: White flour, oil, salt, water, yeast, gluten, milk powder, sugar, cooked pumpkin, basil. Looking forward to trying this out

We're getting a 'professional' video done and would like you to ask our members if they can assist in making a short video on your phones. Box Divvy is about community which makes it stand out from the crowd. Record the words Buy. Share. Save. in the most creative way. Vary intonation, use some fruit and veg as well, show in writing and say and so on. Have fun. Be creative. Less than 30 seconds....
