Observing the daily and seasonal changesit was like working in a tree houseoverlooking wonderful community gardens and a hive of creative activity below." In 2018 BHCAC was fortunate enough to have the very talented multidisciplinary artist Katherine Marmaras as artist is residence. Katherine is a Melbourne based printmaker and visual artist who inc...orporates printmaking techniques with other mediums. 01.01.2022 HAPPY BIRTHDAY BHCAC - GREGORY BURGESS "Local artisans and craftspeople were invited to contribute to make this a lively and expressive place full of meaning and transformation for its community." As you wander through BHCAC, there is something to see around every corner that will amaze and inspire. The highly talented architect Gregory Burgess worked closely with local artists and members of the community to produce a genuine and award winning community art cen...tre. The artists' work was integrated into the design of the building which can be seen in the ceramic leaf tiles embedded in pathways around the building, glazed ceramic capping around the roof line, tiled brick columns and hand painted tiled murals. Thank you Gregory Burgess. The beautiful BHCAC today is a testament to your foresight and design whereby bringing together the community to create a space where arts and individuality are welcomed and indeed celebrated.
