16.01.2022 This weekend was a timely reminder to not take the wetter/cooler days we’ve had for granted. These hot and windy days can still threaten lives and homes. Last night we responded to a grass fire in Box Hill with Fire and Rescue NSW Station 83 Riverstone and Rouse Hill Rural Fire Brigade which was quickly extinguished. This afternoon we responded to a grass / bush fire on Pitt Town Road Kenthurst with Kenthurst Rural Fire Service, Hillside Rural Fire Brigade, Glenorie Rural Fir...e Brigade, Annangrove Rural Fire Brigade, Kellyville Rural Fire Brigade, Maroota South RFS, Rouse Hill Rural Fire Brigade along with Fire and Rescue 83 Riverstone and strike teams from NSW Rural Fire Service - Cumberland Zone, NSW RFS - Hawkesbury District and Hornsby/Ku-ring-gai Rural Fire Service. Many thanks to McDermott Aviation Group for their aerial water bombing that was critical in providing property protection and containing the fire. Pitt Town Road is now reopened in both directions.

04.01.2022 Fire Permits now required With the start of the Bush Fire Danger Period commencing today, Thursday 1st October, Fire Permits are now required. Prior to conducting any burning, a permit must be obtained from NSW Rural Fire Service as well as approval from The Hills Shire Council.... 01.01.2022 After having an Emergency Warning fire burn through our neighbourhood last fire season, We are thankful for the current cool weather conditions for the season so far. Now isn’t the time to be complacent as it is important to be prepared and have a fire plan.
