24.01.2022 O Jesus, Jesus, You are the One who can make my life complete. O Jesus, my peace restore. It’s Jesus I need, Jesus indeed, Jesus in me, more and more.... The Box Hill SA Band presents its recording of the song 'It is Jesus' by Joy Webb arranged by James Wright. 'Jesus make all possible in me' - Matthew 6:33 - But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 'Without Jesus I am so often blind' - John 8:12 - "When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.' Jesus waits for me to see the truth - John 14:6 - Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Mervyn Agnew was a fine example of a Salvationist servant of God, doing his best at doing what he likes doing best. He was a committed Christian, husband, and proud family man. 13.01.2022 Circumstances bring change, Change, opportunities. Opportunities, new goals in this changing world. Bandmaster Ken Waterworth, recently appointed to a national role in Worship Arts for the Australian Territory of The Salvation Army now has priorities which preclude him from continuing with the musical leadership of the Box Hill Salvation Army Band.... With grateful hearts we thank Ken for his dedicated service to the band. The band will certainly miss his excellent musical leadership. Ken will continue as a Box Hill bandsmen. Box Hill bandsman and Melbourne Red Shield Bandmaster Graham Roper has accepted the role and responsibilities as Bandmaster of Box Hill Salvation Army Band. Graham will take leadership of the band immediately. Graham follows a long line of distinguished leaders and is fully conversant with the long and notable history of service of the band, to which we wish him well. We recognise the challenge going forward is to lead the band as a vehicle to attract the listener in a changing expression of Salvationism and Christianity. Box Hill Salvation Army is now located in a prominent position with the recent opening of its new premises at 1010 Whitehorse Road Box Hill. There are continuing opportunities to tell of the Gospel within the Box Hill community and surrounding region. As a corps & as a band, we grasp them with both hands. Please support and pray for Graham’s leadership and the ministry of the Box Hill Salvation Army Band.

11.01.2022 Thanks to Kevin Larsson and the Salvation Army Southern California Division for the opportunity to have a blow together. Our bandmaster Ken Waterworth led the brass band rehearsal over zoom. Great to play along together! We played arrangements from Noel Jones, Sam Creamer and Jared Proellocks.

07.01.2022 On a normal Wednesday night I would usually have the pleasure of sitting alongside these two fine musos for a three hour rehearsal. It has been over six mont...hs since we have been able to do that. Just for the fun of it we have put together this little recording. Hope you enjoy it. Special thanks to my wonderful wife, Kylie Hamilton for her technical skills in making it happen! See more

03.01.2022 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16 NIV And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8 NIV

01.01.2022 Live worship at Box Hill Salvos this morning! Our first horn player (aka corps officer) Major Brian Saunders is preaching. Not sure which Brian to look at.

01.01.2022 Craig Downes, the band’s Solo Euphonium player presents his reflective arrangement of the Matt Redman song - One Day. The inspiration for the song comes from thinking towards Heaven and in particular Revelation 21:4 - He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Matt Redman describes his thoughts of there being no more cancer, or depression as an extension of this. Dare we... say No more Coronavirus The song uses the chorus When we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be! by Eliza Hewitt (1898). Our hope is in Jesus! Let this be your hope for eternity too.
