23.01.2022 We have started Youth Sustainable Development Organization -YSDA

22.01.2022 Thanks you Kerry Grace and Jo Di for an informative and thoughtful evening.Weve had great feedback.

22.01.2022 Great opportunity to find out about the organisation that exists to eliminate all kinds of discrimination against women. NZ time on this, so make it 4pm Australian Eastern Standard Time.

22.01.2022 And we thought that South Korea was enlightened as they have had female leaders in politics and industry for some time. Calling out stupid #misogyny again. Go South Korean women!. Love the catch cry #escapethecorset.

19.01.2022 This is an interview I did yesterday but they used a lot of old footage with Julianne in it! Nice to see you in lights again Julianne!

19.01.2022 Induction of new member Debbie Petlueng by re-elected President Helen Morschel

19.01.2022 #womenssuffrage A mighty woman. Sometimes you realise the shoulders on which we stand. This was Victoria and then Australia in the late 19th Century. #equalrights

18.01.2022 Girls Can Be... so many things! And, dont let anyone tell you otherwise! For a fun board book by this illustrator that encourages kids to ignore gender stereot...ypes and celebrate their unique selves, we highly recommend "You Can Be" for ages 2 to 5 at https://www.amightygirl.com/you-can-be For an inspiring picture book for young children about countering stereotypes featuring a diverse array of princesses that climb trees, play sports, stomp in mud puddles, and drive dump trucks -- all while wearing a tiara and clothing of every color in the rainbow - we recommend Not All Princesses Dress in Pink for ages 4 to 8 at https://www.amightygirl.com/not-all-princesses-dress-in-pink Elise Gravel, the creator of this fantastic illustration, is also the author/illustrator of several childrens books for ages 4 to 8, including "I Want A Monster" (https://www.amightygirl.com/i-want-a-monster) and "The Cranky Ballerina" (https://www.amightygirl.com/the-cranky-ballerina) -- and the graphic novel "Olga and the Smelly Thing from Nowhere" for ages 7 to 10 at https://www.amightygirl.com/olga-smelly-thing This design is also available on a t-shirt in both English and French versions at https://bit.ly/2H7Ivvm

18.01.2022 These Red Cross Bushfire grants are still available until 31 August this year. Share with some who might not hve realised they are still open and available.

17.01.2022 Silver Sirens and re-defining ageing for women over 45. Should be a great event

17.01.2022 BPW Coffs Harbour has, as have many other organisations during the COVID 19 pandemic, moved meetings and events online. In May we hosted an event where we Reimagined the Future post the pandemic. We all agreed this time has given us the chance to build our own lives and society back better. In July we had our second foray into virtual events and were treated to some great information and advice on building resilience. In the face of the bushfires last year and then the unce...rtainty around health and financial well-being during the pandemic we believed people were wanting to work on their own and their communitys resilience. Participants even joined us from outside Coffs Harbour and found the mixture of talks from experts and participant interaction and engagement both stimulating and helpful. For more check out our post on Linkedin https://www.linkedin.com//urn:li:groupPost:10446407-66944/ The success of our online event has meant that we intend running another in 2021 as we attract a more diverse audience who offer different insights into matters affecting us all. But now we hope to recommence our face to face community events with the first in October to highlight Equal Pay for women in Australia. More details soon. See more

16.01.2022 For anyone who knows a worthy person to nominate - we have many here on the Coffs Coast.

15.01.2022 BPW monthly coffee connection is on this Wednesday at Coffs Harbour Surf Club - 10 am. There will be 2 tables and space to ensure COVID protocols are honoured. Hope to see you there

14.01.2022 There will be a resistance to your ambition, Ms. Harris said. There will be people who say to you, You are out of your lane, because they are burdened by only having the capacity to see what has always been instead of what can be. But dont you let that burden you.

13.01.2022 There are so many terrible side effects to this wretched pandemic and heres another thats totally shocking. #stophumantrafficking #stopsextrafficking

12.01.2022 They did it again, all female crew! Air Niuginis Dash 8 Captain Sharon Tarah and her all female crew who operated PX 206/205 recently from Port Moresby to Ra...baul and back. From left, front row: Cabin crew Josephine Avediba and Debra Kabewa, middle row: Captain Tarah and First Officer Vanessa Nagul, back row: Cabin crew Dika Boto Congratulations ladies, thankyou for flying Air Niugini and Papua New Guinea higher. Thankyou for the inspiration! #AirNiuginipilots #FemalePNGpilots #PapuaNewGuineawomen

12.01.2022 Many authors wrote under a male pseudonym to ensure they were published and taken seriously. A new project in hand to #reclaimhername

12.01.2022 Recognotion of female composers - at last. In Australia we have had some wonderful women composers including the unique and contemporary Elena Kats- Chernin. Sd to say I could not have nominated the top 5 most recognised names.

11.01.2022 Is there a regional or rural woman you wish to honour? After the drought and devstating bushfires last ytear many of our local Coffs Coast Women shone. Heres a chance. Ann Rehwinkel Lorraine Gordon Sharon Whitewood Nana Glen Connectto have them reognised.

11.01.2022 The Grattan Insitute has worked out that woen of 25 who go on to have children will have earned $2,000,00 less at 70 than men. Paid parental leave that encourages both fathers and mothers to have time with their children is necessary. And perhaps a cultural shift away from the undertanding that its the man who has to earn the money to "look after the family". #genderequity #paidparentalleave

11.01.2022 Its usually the women who are the closest to understanding day to day needs of families and individuals, so, yes, make sure they are represented.

10.01.2022 This is so pertinent to how a number of us are feeling with the overwhelm of our current lives during this wretched pandemic. All the more reason to attend our online event to look at resilence tomorrow tonight.

10.01.2022 Yay! Were back. First BPW Coffs Harbour morning coffee post lockdown. Excited to be back.

09.01.2022 Dont forget to Zoom in for this great opportunity to focus in on what resilience means for you and your community. You will have the opportunity to check out your own resilience with a practical tool provided only to participants. See you there.

09.01.2022 Global actions called for whilst we are also thinking locally.

07.01.2022 The times they are a changing. Admittedly some of the appointees are very conservative but having women in senior positions at the Vatican will commence the breaking own of barriers. And, who knows, maybe their stewardship will see money directed to more social enterprises and organisations. #womeneconomists #Vatican

06.01.2022 Well done. Looking forward to hearing info from the speakers.

05.01.2022 BPW AGM and Christmas in July. Congratulations to President Helen again and welcome to recent member Debbie who is our new Secretary. Our Treasurer Deb Johnson on her left.

04.01.2022 Love this from Google today. Its the 427th birthday of Artemisia Gentileschi a feisty and great woman artist from Renaissance Italy. This fits very well with the emphasis from the National Gallery this year on our own Australian women artists. #knowmyname #nga #GoogleDoodle

04.01.2022 Very excited to hear this wonderful woman speak. 410 Ticket sales are donated to Education for Girls.

03.01.2022 Nicole K Martin as we discuss often, women need to talk about money. #womenempowerment

03.01.2022 No wonder women have income inequality. 1 We dont earn as much as men and then 2. We then are not eligible for better tax breaks. #incomeinequality #equalpay #pinkrecession

02.01.2022 UN Sustainable Development Goal 11: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. Target #1 is that By 2030, ensure access for all to adequate, safe and affordable housing and basic services and upgrade slums #SDGs Kim Connolly Is adequate housing basic human right?

01.01.2022 I will not be lectured by this man "not now, not ever. Yes, the famous speech set to music. #juliagillard #misogyny
