09.01.2022 As part of an English Studies unit called 'The Big Screen', students were given the task to create a 2 minute 'pocket film' using their phones. After exploring key films and techniques used by directors, students were charged with incorporating these techniques into their own original films. Students could either adapt a short text of their choice (short story, poem, song lyrics) or they could write an original script on which to base their film. Through this project-based l...earning style, students developed capabilities in critical and creative thinking, ICT skills, and their capacity to use language to shape meaning according to purpose, audience, and context. Marcus Dregos' film is an adaptation of the classic 1975 film 'Jaws'. Through employing various thrilling techniques to create suspense, Marcus created his film with humour and flare, resulting in a modern, whimsical take on Spielberg's original film. Well done Marcus! #hscenglishstudies #bradfieldseniorcollege #tafensw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FrC8XxD-LE&feature=youtu.be #
