18.01.2022 Posting photos online is always a funny one because to everyone else, they are just photos. . But to me, they all tell a story. . They show a moment in time and capture something that really happened, right in front of me. ... . Photos don't just happen naturally, it's all about interacting, talking, sometimes deep conversation, joking, playing around, which all leads up to the moment of capture. . My session with Hayley recently was a deep and meaningful session. I photographed Hayley's maternity sessions 6 years in which I was pleased to see them still hanging on the walls of her home. . This time Hayley wanted photos for personal reasons which I won't share here but let's say this year has been a testing time on multiple fronts..... nothing to do with covid. . We captured so many AMAZING photos by just hanging out and talking. But on the surface, to know what Hayley is going through, to see her smile like this in a few photos was like watching the sun rise. It was truly beautiful. Seeing people smile and enjoy themselves even through hard times is why I do what I do. . She's a warrior. See more

16.01.2022 I so love this photo of Rosie. We were somewhere in the middle of nowhere. I only know it was in South Australia but that's all. We checked into this amazing place for the night on our way to Alice Springs. It was truly magnifico. Sooooooooo beautiful and Rosie just walked around looking at the flowers outside. She loves flowers so much, still does.

07.01.2022 Hey all, how is everyone doing? Are you all OK? . If you haven't already noticed, I'm taking a little break from socials atm. . The past few weeks have been a little tough and I think it all came to a head today and I had a small panic attack. It wasn't pleasant. ... . Everyone is clearly aware this year has been testing for everyone but not once have I complained or let myself get stressed by it. I normally just roll with the punches. . Nothing truly bad has happened, so in that sense, we're very lucky but a lot of things causing some high stress levels and worry for long periods are taking their toll. . But today I picked up a paint brush for the first time in a few years. Drank beer and listened to music. After having my heart exploding out of my chest early today, it was quite relaxing and I really enjoyed it. I'll try and finish it tomorrow with a big cactus while Rosie's in daycare. . I am going to continue to chill over the next month of so, so I won't be positing much. I'll just try to get a few things sorted out before I get back to business. . But I genuinely do ask, how is everyone? This little episode really made me think of others. I am someone who always cares for others and feel their pain. (Definitely a bad trait to have) I just hope everyone is doing well and if you're not you have people close to you. . I truly love and appreciate everyone who follows my art and interacts. It feels amazing knowing people care. See more

Would you like to have shots like this included in your session along with all the standard images you would expect from a family portrait session? . Please let me know in the comments. A simple yes or no will be sufficient or you can elaborate if you wish.... . I absolutely love capturing those fun in-between moments but I never know if I should include them in the final selection. . I really want to know what people want. . I always capture the shots you would expect but I really feel these natural, crazy images are just as important. . What do you think? . Next minute, the clouds opened up and this light just hit our door so perfectly. Talk about good timing. ... . So I asked Dean to jump in with Aimee for a few shots. . 03.01.2022 It's crazy how I don't really take photos of my own daughter. The odd selfie but that's it. . I see a local photographer Holly, take some really beautiful photos of her two girls, so she has inspired me to take more of Rosie. . On Tuesday, we went to the beach and I thought I would just follow her around and get some snaps of her. ... . More times than not, she never wants her photo taken so I tried to explain the importance of having nice photos so we can have good memories of her. . To my shock, she understood and was really happy to have her photo taken. . It feels nice to get some good shots of her. I know I am biased, but dam she's a little cutie. See more

03.01.2022 This is me gliding through 2021 all swan like. Full cruise control. No stress. No over thinking. Take each day as it comes and try to enjoy each moment. Dam that sounds bloody good. Let's see how go. ... Happy new year everyone. I truly, sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, hope 2021 is overall a good year for you. I really do. 03.01.2022 I just had a really nice moment with Rosie. It was well needed. . I have hurt my back and have had crazy, annoying and sometimes crippling back pain. . I have been sick and feeling sorry for myself for the past month... . Plus we have a lot on as a family atm with every spare minute filled, all while being tired and grumpy. Hence all the short captions of late. I normally have lots to say but I can't even think straight atm. . But Rosie and I were just lying on my bed practising her numbers. Then she started drawing. I just watched her. Stroking her big chubby cheek. Smelly her soft recently washed hair. Looking into her eyes, smiling. After a month of feeling pretty crappy, I just felt so happy and relaxed. I really felt at peace and like there is nothing in this world I'd rather be doing, than this right now with her. I've actually never had that. . It was really beautiful. . I just wanted to share this. I know, although I have been posting photos, I haven't been saying much. It's just because I'm sick and sore and tired and grumpy. . I hope everyone else is doing well. I'll be back in a proper fashion soon. See more
