23.01.2022 #ThrowBackThursday #Year2000

22.01.2022 Under the Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Management Regulations 1995, anyone wanting to install, service or repair an air conditioner, or any other piece of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment must be a licensed technician. Bradmac Airconditioning holds a Refrigerant Trading Authorisation and all our technicians hold Refrigerant Handling Licences issued by the Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) - Australian Department of Agriculture, Water and the... Environment There is a clear and present risk if consumers use non-licenced technicians to install or service their air conditioners or refrigerators - a risk to both the environment and their wallet. Non-licenced technicians and businesses have not demonstrated their willingness to adhere to their legal obligations and this may reflect in their services. Consumers run the risk of: Sub-par service / installation which may mean additional services are required Risk of product warranty becoming null and void Risk of refrigerant leaking into the atmosphere - bad for the environment and bad for the performance of the system So why should you use a licensed technician and business? The refrigerant in modern split-system air conditioners is a potent greenhouse gas. One kilogram of the most common gas, R410a, has the same global warming impact as two tonnes of carbon dioxide which is like driving a four-cylinder car for six months. Therefore, the first priority is to ensure that this refrigerant does not escape into the atmosphere. Licensed technicians and authorised businesses have the skills and must operate to mandated standards to ensure that the emissions of these gases are minimised.

05.01.2022 With warmer days on the way, it's important to remember to regularly service and maintain your air conditioner to ensure it’s in good working order. The CFA (Country Fire Authority) recommends evaporative coolers be checked yearly for both cost and safety reasons to ensure they are operating optimally and do not present problems that could cause an electrical fault or fire. If you would like to organise a service on your system/s, please do not hesitate to contact our Service Department on 1300 655 309 or [email protected]
