24.01.2022 As a former scout myself I always love visiting local scout groups and seeing young kids so excited by all the new skills they’re learning and activities they get to partake in. Thanks to the 3rd Beaumaris Scout Group for inviting me to their ‘going-up’ night - where the Cubs become Scouts and enter a new stage of learning. The kids did a fabulous job of advocating for new equipment so they can continue going on their overnight outdoor adventures

23.01.2022 ITS TIME TO REOPEN VICTORIA SAFELY

23.01.2022 Victorian Labor have just handed down their state budget for 2020/21. They said this was their ‘plan’ for Victoria’s future. I’m sorry to report that our community’s needs have simply been forgotten by this government. Not one budget request was funded, yet at the same time Victoria’s debt will skyrocket to $154.8bn. ... This disappointing situation has strengthened my resolve to fight for the infrastructure that our community is deserving of. Please know that I will keep fighting - for every local resident.

17.01.2022 Known and loved by the parents, teachers, and students of Sandringham College Catherine Kirby is the beating heart of her school community. Be it driving buses, assisting with school productions, or simply getting things done when they need to be done, Catherine never fails to generously give of her time and expertise. There could not be a more deserving recipient of this year’s Joan Kirner Award an annual prize organised by Parents Victoria to recognise the outstanding c...ontribution made by parents to the life of their local school communities. At a time when community spirit is more important than ever, it’s people like Catherine who deserve to be recognised and celebrated. Well done!

14.01.2022 Today is World Kindness Day! It’s been a tough year for Victorians and we can never underestimate the impact that a simple act of kindness can make on one’s life. It might be a smile, a coffee or a phone call it doesn’t need to be much but it can mean the world to someone else.

14.01.2022 This morning, Victorian Liberal Leader - Michael O'Brien MP announced my appointment to Shadow Cabinet. I am humbled to be asked to serve the Victorian people in this way. Alongside representing the Sandringham electorate, Michael has asked me to serve as Shadow Minister for Energy and Renewables, Shadow Minister for Innovation, Shadow Minister for Bay Protection and Shadow Minister for Fishing and Boating. Each of these policy areas play a critical role in shaping Victoria’...s future. Yes, Victorians want power that is reliable and affordable - but as our economic recovery from COVID-19 progresses there is also an opportunity to create home-grown Victorian jobs from sustainable and renewable energy sources. As a life-long Bayside resident, I am also committed to protecting and preserving Port Philip as an environmental and recreational asset for future generations. As I said in my Maiden Speech, we are the custodians of our natural environment and we are charged with a significant responsibility to be thoughtful stewards of our natural resources. As a parent of two young children, I understand how important it is that Victoria becomes the best state in the country to foster an innovation culture and the creative and economic opportunities that follow. At the age of 35, I am the youngest member of the Liberal Party party room. I am now one of the youngest members of Shadow Cabinet. I hope that today acts as a lightening-rod moment for young people around Victoria and our nation who believe that they have the passion and drive to make our communities a better place.

11.01.2022 Our plan to get Victoria Back to Work would kick-start tourism by promoting travel within Victorian with ‘Road Trip for Victoria’ vouchers that offer Victorians a 50% discount up to $200 on tours or accommodation when booking three nights or more. This means that there would be more reasons to return to the places you love and to discover new places with $400 million to develop and upgrade tourist attractions across Victoria in 2021 and a $300 million Victorian Tourism Fund to support tourism operators to recover and promote local tourism. Tourism means jobs. Our ideas will kick start Victorian tourism and get our state #BackToWork

11.01.2022 Of course - Bayside’s best cafes are in the Sandringham electorate! Congratulations to Mike and the team at Limoncello on winning Bayside’s best cafe as part of the Delicious Local Campaign. Great work, guys!

10.01.2022 What a joy to join with Sandringham East Primary School students on their first morning back at school to celebrate their 2021 leaders! The best part - the kids could SING! It really is the small things! ... Congratulations to all the students who received leadership positions - our children are indeed the leaders we need of today

10.01.2022 An unfortunate event this morning at the Red Bluff Cliffs in Black Rock. A timely reminder that the cliffs are very brittle and not to be climbed due to crumbling. Those who move outside of the fence zone in this area are at major risk of falling/injury. Best wishes and a speedy recovery to the man involved.

09.01.2022 Did you know that the Community Bank Sandringham give up to 80% of profits back to the community? Over the last 20 years, over $2 million has been provided to local community groups and organisations. So I’m excited to announce that their NEW Funding program for 2020/21 is now open for applications. Previously called Sponsorships, Partnerships and Grants, they have created a new program called the 'Community Engagement Fund' so that they can continue to strengthen and suppo...rt our community. 09.01.2022 It’s so important that we invest in our community assets and properly plan for future population growth in our area. That’s why, I have proposed the following projects for funding consideration in this today’s budget $1 million for the restoration and ongoing maintenance of Hampton Pier, Sandringham ... $50,000 for the beautification of Department of Roads traffic light boxes across the Sandringham District $200,000 for the construction of female change room facilities at Trevor Barker Oval The preservation of the vast majority of the former Gas and Fuel land in Nepean Highway Highett for community use $10 million dollars towards the staged development of a multi-hectare regional sporting precinct within the Kingston Green Wedge Investing in our community assets should be a priority for the State Government.

08.01.2022 This reaction encapsulates the raw and honest struggle of business owners across Victoria. They are deeply hurting and are carrying so much on their shoulders: financial burdens, the welfare of their staff and family coupled with uncertainty from government. Tragically, many won’t make it just another day... For some just another day will be the final tipping point. The Premier needs to be ultimately responsible for these numbers also. I don’t say this lightly: Any life lost as a result of his extended lockdown is on him and his government.

07.01.2022 Labor will have you believe that their State Budget is for all Victorians. But that's not true. Today's budget has given our community billions of dollars in additional debt and zero dollars in much needed infrastructure. ... In typical form, Victorian Labor have not borrowed to build - they have borrowed to waste; with cost blow-outs severely impacting the funding of local projects. So, what does today's budget leave us with? No funding, no response to our requests, and no indication of how this Government proposes to provide the infrastructure that our community deserves.

05.01.2022 We’ve had hundreds of businesses from Hampton to Mentone nominated by local residents in the past 2 weeks Were you one of the many locals who have shown their love for and nominated Sandringham Fruit Market, Watkins Bay Coffee Trading Company or Two Bob Snob?! It’s not to late to show your support for a local businesses and nominate your favourite! 05.01.2022 The sun is shining, the drinks are flowing and Sandringham is open for business! Great to get out and catch up with locals after a big week in parliament. Here’s to more opening up - in a COVIDSafe way (of course!)

05.01.2022 This year has been tough, tougher than we could have ever expected. But it’s in the darkest of times that the smallest acts of kindness shine brightest That’s why I’m excited to announce that this year, I’m again partnering with BayCISS - an independent, not-for-profit charity based in our community for their Annual Christmas Giving Appeal... At Christmas time, BayCISS distribute food hampers and gifts to local people in need. But to do this, they rely on community donations. This year, we need your help more than ever. Many of us may not be in a position to give as much as we’d like to this year and that’s ok. But that gives us a great opportunity to think a little differently this year. Like last year, my office in Sandringham will be taking donations until COB Wednesday 9th December 2020 and you can drop these off, unwrapped, between 9:00am-5:00pm. You can view more information about their giving guidelines and recommendations here: www.bradrowswell.com.au/giving-appeal

04.01.2022 School is back! After the uncertainty and challenges of last year, I hope that 2021 will be a year of stability and certainty for the close to 1 million Victorian students heading back to school from today. My thanks to the principals, teachers and support staff who continue to ensure that every child receives the very best education ... My thanks also to every parent for assisting to educate their children while also continuing to work and provide for their families in 2020 Today, every Victorian student turns a new page in the story of their educational journey. I hope that this chapter will be filled with success, adventure and hope for a brighter and optimistic future

04.01.2022 Today is a big day for all our local eateries and retail businesses that are now able to open and I’m wishing them all the best! It is important that, together as a community, we do as best we can to #ShopLocal and support our local small businesses to help our local economy in their long term recovery. Where are you heading today?

04.01.2022 Earlier this week, I shared the following message with local year 12 students who are entering their exam period. I reminded them that there is so much that defines success and achievement and this must never be limited to simply an ATAR score not that this isn’t important, but it is just one of many measures. It's been a big year for our year 12s - and we're all cheering them on over the next few weeks.

02.01.2022 The Victorian Liberal Nationals' Back to Work Plan will generate new jobs throughout the Victorian economy and give back security, and the feeling of security, to all. Our plan is for immediate action so that Victorians can get their jobs back, provide for their families, open their businesses, meet their rent and mortgage payments, educate their kids, keep healthy and protect elderly Victorians. Victorian small businesses need ... Certainty to reopen and operate in a COVID-safe environment A plan from government for the economic recovery of Victoria Support to recover from the damage of forced closures Access to skilled workers to build their operations Read more about our plan to get Victorians #BackToWork here: www.bradrowswell.com/OurPlan

01.01.2022 Tomorrow, the State Government will hand down its 2020/2021 State Budget. This budget will have defining implications for our State’s future. That’s why, I have proposed the following projects for funding consideration in this year’s budget:... $500,000 for the installation of a pedestrian crossing facility at the intersection of Childers Street and Warrigal Road, Mentone $1.5 million for the installation of traffic lights and a pedestrian crossing at the intersection of George Street and Bay Road, Sandringham $1.5 million for the installation of traffic lights and a pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Tulip Street and Bluff Road, Black Rock Being able to safely walk to and from school, work or appointments is not a privilege. It is a fundamental right held by every Victorian. Funding for these intersections and crossings will tangibly improve the flow of traffic and safety of the thousands of pedestrians who travel these stretches of roads on a daily basis.

01.01.2022 Check out these committed cool kids holding a lemonade stand to raise money for the rebuild of Sandringham Primary School - despite the rain! So great to see such love and enthusiasm among our local school kids who value their education. It’s not too late to support them - if you’re nearby race down and grab a lemonade and support this great cause. They’re sheltering under the Sandy Scout Hall on Bamfield Street until 4!
