Use a process that puts PLAY up front and then back fills with content linked to the curriculum. For example, to teach students anatomy we challenge them to build a robotic hand using everyday materials that can pick up the most number of ping pong balls in 1 minute. Over time we have found that by starting with a challenge that is fun and relevant to the students, they are instantly engaged and don’t want to stop doing the activity.
