23.01.2022 Introducing Ashlee Harrison Along with her role as CEO of zero2hero, Ashlee is the director of social media consultancy Social Say, as well as a SafeTALK trai...ner, and a mentor. During her seven years working in mental health, she has partnered with many organisations including Lifeline, Suicide Prevention Australia and Foundation for Young Australians. In 2015, Ashlee was recognised by the Australian Financial Review as one of Australias 100 Women of Influence, and in the same year was also awarded a Pride of Australia Medal. Additionally, in 2013, Ashlee won the WA Youth Award for Education, and was a Young Australian of the Year finalist. Ashlee is a highly skilled communicator and facilitator, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University. I make sure that I switch off, this means time without my phone, social media and television. I give myself plenty of time to just be, without some of the distractions of everyday life. I have a holistic view of managing my mental health. I exercise regularly, I eat wholesome real food, and I meditate. We are very privileged to have the support of Ashlee for our Online Mental Health Summit on April 8th. Ashlee is extremely well respected in the Mental Health space. 06.01.2022 This is my wife. I have been married to her since 20th Dec "14. She knew me as the hard as f#$k soldier who loved the army and everything it entailed, I spent l...arge amounts of time away (One memorable time spent away I was gone for 8 weeks got home and the next day was told I had to go again on the next day. This is called performance punishment among the digs). She stood by when I was in Afghanistan which can only be thought of as IMMENSELY courageous, a noteable moment for her when I was there was a U.S. media outlet reported 3 men from my barracks had been killed and the families not notified yet which was true and the Aus media werent to report it until the families notified. Which wouldve been so very hard for her to endure, sitting at home witing for that fateful knock on the door... Now years later she has stood by that Alpha male who has turned into a completely different human being. She has watched me progressively lose my mind to anxiety and panic attacks. She has helped me through alcoholism. She has helped me through self harm episodes. She saw a man who was excited to go to war, change to a whippet scared to leave the house. I wear medals on my chest on days of war commemoration. But the TRUE HERO is this lady. I am no hero, I dont even feel Im particularly courageous. Im just trying to live. But Ella wakes up every day and tends to our 2 beautiful children and stands by me as staunch as any soldier Ive ever met. Which is true courage. If you have read this far, I ask you to please share this far and wide. See more

01.01.2022 Repost: @how_2_bewell The quote that hit different Everyday I see hundreds of quotes about mental health whilst scrolling through my Instagram feed .... Most of the time if I feel like I relate to them or I think they are an important message to share Ill post them to my story . However, when I saw this quote I was taken back a little bit and just related so much to it so much I thought I had to personally share it to my feed. I feel like the idea around mental health gets avoided a lot my society . We all know it exists but we are never really taught how to deal with it, so we ignore it. There is a lack of education in how to deal with mental health in ourselves, but there is also a lack in education in how to help another person with their mental health . This then creates a society where people are too afraid to ask for help and where people are too afraid to offer help. People dont know what to say if someone approaches them about their mental health and will then try to avoid that person because they dont know how to respond . Where really all they want is for someone to listen and for them to feel like someone cares. So if someone asks for your help just listen to them you dont even need to respond to what theyre saying, just listen and show that you care . #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #quote #wellbeing #astitchintime #mentalhealthmatters See more
