25.01.2022 What is it about some customers who like their techs to work 24/7, feed their clients a meal that Mr Creosote could not finish, give the techs no lunch break and make no mention of or provide for the very people who make it all happen. I think we need a WikkiLeaks for customers who treat us like this. Send an untraceable raspberry to the customer. How do we do it? On the other side we could reward great customers who reward us with a great meal.

24.01.2022 We look forward, with hopeful hearts, to the return of days like these. Best wishes to all our friends as we navigate these difficult times. We are still here and still available to help. Remember, we can still provide interpreters and our equipment either in hubs or on-line.

20.01.2022 Bramshaw lads are in Canberra this week for GEO Week 2019 with our new Confidea Plixus push to talk microphones from TELEVIC and our PTZ cameras being used for interventions and streaming. What a week!

20.01.2022 COP23 Fiji 2017 - another international under the belt. 200 microphones, 300 language receivers, 6 interpreter booths over 3 very hot and long days.

20.01.2022 Happiness is a straight line of our desktop DigimIcs waiting to delegates to mess 'em up! Thank you techs!

19.01.2022 Smultaneous Interpretation: Our technician, Brisbane Peter (as distinct from Sydney Peter and Melbourne Peter), drew this very simple but very effective cartoon today way up in Mount Isa in North Queensland to get engineers to slow down with their speech delivery. Well done Pete - I bet the interpreters loved it and I bet it was effective. For those who don't know interpreters sit in one of our sound booths and listen to every word spoken via our sound system and earphones and as they listen they speak in their second language which is then transmitted via electronic means to our earpieces being worn by conference delegates who select which language they need on their language receiver or microphone. Speed of voice delivery needs to be steady and speakers need to stop at the end of sentences to allow our interpreters to catch up.

18.01.2022 The unfair contract legislation is a big deal millions of standardised contracts, that were not negotiated, will have clauses that are void and will need to be changed The Australian Newspaper, 10/8/2016 It is time to have all your standard form contracts, including client terms and conditions, reviewed.... As you are aware the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) (which commenced on 1 January 2011) introduced a new regime for business to business transactions (up to $40k per transaction) and business to consumer transactions. On 12 November 2016 new laws will come into effect to extend the existing unfair contract terms in the ACL which applied to consumers to small business. The new laws will take effect on 12 November 2016. This means that any contract entered into after this date which falls under the definition of a small business contract will be affected to the extent that any unfair term in such a contract will be void. Meaning that it will be unenforceable and treated as if it did not exist. It is estimated that these changes will cover up to 95% of small businesses in Australia. The time to act is now. Thanks to william mulholland + co LAWYERS who sent this to us.

17.01.2022 Our cabled chairman controlled microphones keeping illustrious company in Perth.

17.01.2022 We all have had to be adaptable during the COVID-19 restrictions. Board meetings have still been happening but changes have been instigated to accommodate Social Distancing requirements. Bigger spaces are required to meet in. Customers are finding that our microphone systems work perfectly in these situations as they are really simple to set-up and operate. Participants can spread out safely and still hear each other perfectly because of built in speakers.... Good communication has never been more important and we are always ready to help. Our mics work straight out of the box!

16.01.2022 Just sent to me on LinkedIn - very relevant to all of us. ----------- In theatre we have a tradition- whenever the theatre is empty we are always sure to leave one light on. Typically on a stand in the centre of the stage, this light is known as the ghost light. There are many stories about its origin- but its meaning is unmistakable. It means though the theatre is empty, WE WILL RETURN. So heres to us. The actors, the technicians, the directors, the carpenters, the design...ers, the dancers, the teachers, the students, the freelancers, those on tour, those at sea, the electricians, the stitchers, the makers, the stage managers.... THE ARTISTS. Many of us have taken big hits during this virus. Financial and emotional weights have come crashing down as our entire industry is reduced to nothing but a bunch of ghost lights. But those ghost lights are temporary place holders. They are a sign. We might be down now- but our passion, our creativity, our drive is still centre stage. Well be unplugging those ghost lights in no time. Until then- heres a ghost light- to let the world know WE WILL BE BACK. See more

15.01.2022 The events industry theme song - Vera Lynn had it all in one song!

14.01.2022 I bet you know "Big cheeks", but didn't know you did. Big cheeks. A grandson of slaves, a boy was born in a poor neighbourhood of New Orleans known as the "Back of Town." His father abandoned the family when the child was an infant. His mother became a prostitute and the boy and his sister had to live with their grandmother.... Early in life, he proved to be gifted for music and with three other kids he sang in the streets of New Orleans. His first gains were coins that were thrown to them. A Jewish family, Karnofsky, who had emigrated from Lithuania to the USA, had pity for the 7-year-old boy and brought him into their home, initially giving 'work' in the house, to feed this hungry child. There he remained and slept in this Jewish family's home where, for the first time in his life, he was treated with kindness and tenderness. When he went to bed, Mrs. Karnovsky sang him a Russian lullaby that he would sing with her. Later, he learned to sing and play several Russian and Jewish songs. Over time, this boy became the adopted son of this family. The Karnofskys gave him money to buy his first musical instrument; as was the custom in the Jewish families. They sincerely admired his musical talent. Later, when he became a professional musician and composer, he used these Jewish melodies in compositions, such as St. James Infirmary and Go Down Moses. The little black boy grew up and wrote a book about this Jewish family who had adopted him in 1907. In memory of this family and until the end of his life, he wore a Star of David and said that in this family, he had learned "how to live real life and determination." You might recognize his name. This little boy was called: Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong. Louis Armstrong proudly spoke fluent Yiddish. And "Satchmo" is Yiddish for "Big Cheeks". And I'll bet you did not know any of this. We live and learn throughout the pandemic.

11.01.2022 United Nations International Days are always interesting and thought provoking. During these challenging times, it is important to think about living together in peace. We all look forward to a brighter future x

11.01.2022 We are very proud of our Rentals Co-Ordinator, Louise, who has just been interviewed in Melbourne on 3RRR's Greening the Apocalypse Show to talk about what the #CWA (Country Women's Association) is, its history & what it does for our community. Louise spoke passionately about her CWA and what a powerful force for good it is in our community, both rural and city. As Louise said, giving women dignity! Louise even started her own CWA branch in Footscray.... I am sure that you have all spoken to Louise at one or many times. She is the centre of our universe here at Bramshaw - phones, quotes, chasing up, making sure that clients give us all the information they can so our quotes and be more accurate (a herculean task!), writing up jobs and making sure all rentals go out on time! Louise even gives technical help to customers. How about that? Her worst job here? Transport! TNT is the most important supplier we have and simply the worst to deal with. An example of her tenacity! Louise was alone at the office one night and having to deal with an international shipment with #TNT, who botched another pick up and would not help her, as she does for others, she called her husband Mark and together they loaded all the gear into her car and took the shipment all the way to the airport to TNT's depot. Even then TNT staff tried to hinder her with security hold ups but upon looking at her face decided they could X-Ray the shipment rather than open all the cases. Why can't all transport companies be like FedEx? Thank you Louise for helping us all perform that much better!

09.01.2022 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death yesterday of our precious dog Snitch. He was a four legged member of the Kemp family and he was loved by all of us at Bramshaw ICS. Snitch lived a splendid life. He had the regal bearing typical of a Jack Russell, was fearless and supremely intelligent. He loved nothing more than keeping us company and amusing us in the office. He led the way on walks along the river edge and in the park. Snitch was a beautiful dog who was adored by all who met him. Over the last fifteen years he charmed the customers, couriers and staff alike with his expressive eyes and powerful personality. We will all miss him terribly, but are grateful for all the love he has given us xx

08.01.2022 Just in case you base your knowledge on the Wuhan virus on the incorrect reporting of MSM here are the latest. USA running tenth on deaths per million of population - that's not what our ABC collective reports! For the record Australia is running in 140th position.

08.01.2022 We look forward, with hopeful hearts, to the return of days like these. Best wishes to all our friends as we navigate these difficult times. We are still here and still available to help. Remember, we can still provide interpreters and our equipment either in hubs or on-line.

07.01.2022 COMMUNIST JOKES ARE NOT FUNNY UNTIL EVERYONE GETS IT

07.01.2022 It is timely to think about safety and health at work. During these turbulent and uncertain days, opportunities arise to ask each other about our well-being. All of us at Bramshaw ICS hope that you are coping well during COVID-19. We send you all our best wishes and warmest regards x

07.01.2022 Who would have thought ... Staging Connections shock change as US Freeman family takes over. from Julius Grafton | on July 31, 2015 Front Page News. A family company that values its employees.... American events Goliath PSAV were gazumped by giant family owned firm Freeman last week. Suddenly Australias largest event services company has just one family owner, something the A$50 million firm has never had. With this 11th hour change, Staging is suddenly owned by a firm with excellent values. Previously Staging was a disparate collective of managers controlling territory, then a public company plaything that was milked, bilked, and ping-ponged for a decade. The PSAV takeover looked like a chapter not a solution as that firm are vulture fund controlled. Staging staff have something real and substantive to look forward to now, as Freeman takes control This is the memo sent by CEO Tony Chamberlain to Staging Connections staff last week: Several weeks ago we announced Staging Connections Group had entered a Scheme Implementation Agreement, which would lead to PSAV acquiring 100% of the business. Following the announcement to the market, we received an approach, which has resulted in a superior offer from the worlds largest Events Service Company based in the U.S., Freeman. After much consideration, the board and management have unanimously agreed to accept the Freeman proposal. We are incredibly fortunate to be in a position where two large events service companies have expressed such interest in our business and its people.

06.01.2022 No one deserves this treatment. The Egyptian Government could end up being a conference free zone. A beautiful people but this is Government just corruption writ large. Memories of the Indian 2010 Commonwealth Games where the same thing happened. Please share to help this supplier.

06.01.2022 A chilly April morning and the city awakes as small businesses go about their tasks serving Australia. Their reward is being independent and free of Government interruption.
