24.01.2022 Since March we have had the pleasure of working with the lovely Beck Smith of Babes, Bubbles & Business ! When I first spoke with Beck, it was apparent that she had a very clear brand vision with zero time to implement it. While she had a logo there was little consistency with what colours, fonts and visuals she was using. Firstly, I sat down and did a brand audit to find where the gaps were in her branding and also determine how to better appeal to her audience. ... From there I created a brand guideline booklet, for her to use and to pass on to any marketing businesses she was working with so that the overall vibe of her business stayed the same. This booklet contains a mood board, brand colour palette, logo options and font guidelines. As part of this audit and guideline building, I noticed the lack of submark, which is something that was needed for her branding as her main logo is in a long landscape format which is not ideal for some applications. This was designed to be simple and easy to read so it would maintain scalability. From here Brand Lucidity has had ongoing work from Babes Bubbles & Business, namely in creating social media tiles, collateral and designing visual themes for their events. these are visually different from each other while maintaining the overall brand aesthetic. Mood: girly, cotton candy, & bold. I am also SUPER STOKED to share with you that I will be holding my first brand clarity workshop at their next Babes, Bubbles & Business networking event! 23.01.2022 Is design sexy? Yes! Is the design process sexy? Eh, not so much. Thought I would pop on and share with you some progress piccies of something I am currently working on. This is about 5 hours of work (not counting the prior several hours of research) with definitely another 5 and many adjustments to go. Design not only needs time, but it needs experimentation too!... Organised beautiful art boards and intentional shape use? don't know her.

15.01.2022 Yo yo! So ah, I am running a workshop at the next Babes, Bubbles and Business event based around finding brand clarity plus some tips for more effective DIY branding. Moving forward in my own business, I will be teaching small business owners how to effectively brand their business and how to apply that branding to their social media graphics. Basically its design school for newbies.... If improving your brand graphics and overall business vibe is something that interests you consider joining Brand Lucidity's Self Love Club to get updates on when I will be holding my more in depth workshops and also for heaps of free tips & tricks to elevate your brand voice. 12.01.2022 Recently I have been working with the lovely Beck Smith of Babes, Bubbles & Business to refine her branding as seen in my previous post. Part of Beck's mission is to connect women in business and create a warm and inviting environment in which women can seek support and network their businesses. With this in mind she created the group Babes, Bubbles Business Network your Passion. However Beck wanted to steer clear of the bubblegum pink aesthetic that BBB has to be more inclu...sive. We have gone for rich earthy tones for our colours so as to appeal to a broader range of women in all fields of business, typographic choices reflect current trends as well remaining complementary to the retro colour palette, the use of a serif font not only adds character but also conveys a sense of luxury. For our logo and submarks we have gone for a range of formats to fit most applications, with duo tone we create interest and easy legibility across our colour spectrum. Since settling on the branding, I have continued on to create a plethora of social media posts and tiles for her to utilise through out the week to help foster engagement with members.

12.01.2022 From time to time there can be reasons for logo updates and refreshes. The most common is creating a more modern variation for the brand to use moving forward. For the most part this decision is really positive. A great example is the logo update for the nice brand Golden Circle. The "Australian Made" logo recently got an update it's it's honestly, the worst. It's meant to be a wattle flower but resembles a virus and frankly would be a nightmare to scale down to smaller sizes.... Special shout out to Tazman from WhiteFoxx Events for slipping these phenomenal biccies into the gift bags, the perfect snack for when I got home Can't wait to attend the next Babes, Bubbles & Business event when it hits Rocky next.

05.01.2022 You may have seen that the Australian Govt. has changed funding to "humanities" in university. This is so that they can "encourage" people to join STEM (even though lots of STEM courses won't be covered). "Education Minister Dan Tehan says the changes will give students cost incentives to study subjects that will prepare them for fields where jobs are needed." Honestly it's a pile of shit, I don't know about you guys, but I have never been good at maths, just can't wrap my h...ead around it to save my life. So why the fuck would I persue a career in it? In the UK they've done a similar thing and this was an ad campaign that they ended up scrapping because of the backlash. The irony is that the campaign wouldn't have come together without seemingly "useless" education. Short sighted and out of touch.
