25.01.2022 Brase Yourself is Serious About Your Safety, and we want to acknowledge the tremendous sacrifices that track officials and safety crews take to protect drivers and fans alike. Doug Lockwood is being recognized as a "hero" after an incident last night at the Chowchilla Speedway Barn Burner. After a heat race, a Beginner Box got its throttle stuck wide open with no brakes; thus flying through the pit area. At a young age, the driver didn't quite know how to shut it off but drove around as a quick fix. That's when Doug sprung into action to stop the moving car before it damaged something or someone. Doug received a few scratches otherwise was ok. The driver was also shaken up but ok. Kudos to Doug for taking a huge risk to protect everyone else! Video by FastFourMedia

16.01.2022 It was our great pleasure to have the opportunity to meet and speak with World Champion Hydroplane Racer Mark Weber at the American Power Boat Association meeting in Chicago. Mark has won fourteen National Hydroplane Driving Championships and two World Driving Championships including the 1997 Unlimited Hydroplane High Point National Championship driving Miss Bud. Mark is presently the Event Director for the Detroit River Regatta Association, and his efforts have kept the nearly 100-year tradition of Gold Cup Unlimited hydroplane racing alive on the Detroit River. We look forward to working with APBA to protect Power Boat Racers now and into the future.

12.01.2022 The SFI 38.1 Neck Restraint Test is conducted at 40 mph (63 kph to be exact). A 40 mph instant deaccelaration produces 68G's of force. Did you know that a whip lash injury can occur at just 2.5 mph ? Did you know a 68G event creates 6200 Newtons and that it only takes 4000 Newtons to experience a neck injury which may result in death. Many people ask us, what's a Newton. A Newton is the force applied to an object, and it is calculated by multiplying its mass by its acceleration (or deaccleration). That means 40 mph is the speed at which a serious neck injury occurs. 40 mph is the speed at which you can die. If someone says your car, boat, sled, bike, tractor or go-kart doesn't go fast enough for you to get hurt.. remember, 40 mph.
