24.01.2022 I will be doing a Plein Air session with Torben Andersen on Monday in Wellington Points CBD (cnr Birkdale and Main Road) from 9:00am, to capture the spectacular beauty of the Poincianas lining the streets. We invite and welcome anyone else who is interested in painting with us. Meet at Tanja’s Cafe at 12 noon for lunch or coffee, after. Come and join us

16.01.2022 I promised something BIG, well, here it is The Master. It is my latest and largest Brass Watercolour Palette. With 8 mixing Wells (870cm3), 21 double sized paint Pans, and folding into a compact 21 X 12cm polished brass box configuration, it is the ideal Studio Palette, and one of the largest available. With it’s ruggard 100% Brass construction, neat flush corners and white enameled interior, it will keep your paint fresh, it will resist rust and dents and it should last a lifetime. But best of all, it is 100% Australian made right here in Brisbane. It joins the rest of my range of Artisan Brass Palettes, which includes The 12 & 16 Pan Mini, The 18 Pan Sketcher, and the 15 Pan Impressionist; AND as usual, custom made options can also be considered. Cheers

16.01.2022 Well, with fingers crossed I went to Wellington Point hoping to do some under cover Plein Air with Torben Andersen, but the wind blew that idea away. Luckily, I did a study of the Poincianas there last Thursday, so I guess the day wasn’t a complete waste. It’s now blowing an absolute gale here in Carindale, almost cyclonic. Lucky we didn’t stick it out Torben. A good day to paint in the Studio I reckon. Cheers

10.01.2022 I decided to get the brushes out today and paint a favourite places of mine, Wellington Point. One of the many beaches of Moreton Bay, it’s very popular with day trippers and families. At low tide they can wander the red sandy flats to off shore King Island, one Kilometre away, and at high tide it’s popular for fishing or a swim. With its generous parklands, large sprawling trees, a boat ramp, Jetty and BBQ facilities, it attracts many families from the greater Brisbane region every weekend. 05.01.2022 My second painting for 2021. I call this one The Three Amigos. It is a painting of my 3 youngest Grandchildren (from left, Mitchy, Cooper and Danielle). When they come down to Palm Beach, they love playing in the Surf. Here they are sitting on the waters edge and cackling their heads off as the cool surf rushes forward to greet them. How lucky are we to have such beautiful beaches for our kids to play on. If you like this one, please share it with your friends. 01.01.2022 Today’s painting is of the Friel family Backpacking to the Hole in the Wall at Rialto Beach, Washington State, USA. Stacy Friel and her sister Nicole Friel were neighbours of ours when we lived in Chicago, back in the 1990’s. Now married with two children, Stacy took the family to this picturesque beach and posted the amazing photo from which this painting was done. When I saw it, I just had to paint, it with permission, so here it is Stacy. I Hope you like it. See more of my Art on my Facebook page Elms Art, and Instagram elms.art. If you like this painting please share it, Cheers
