23.01.2022 TONIGHT At the Mechanics Institute Wilkinson Foyer from 7pm to 8.30pm: Memory Atlas Smartphone Interview Workshops. These workshop are designed to be able to give people the basic tools they need to begin conducting their own oral history interviews.... Using simple techniques and ideas, these workshops will also help participants to- - Create personal memory maps of their lives - Use this map information to prepare for interview - Become better at active listening and note taking - Use information gathered in preparation to create assisted recall interviews -Use smart phone technology to make short video and audio interviews. -Create genuine and intimate video portraits of people -Use social media platforms to present interview to wider audiences (if so desired). All workshops are designed for any level of experience and for all ages 14 and above. There is no need to be tech savvy and the workshops are primarily focused on interview techniques and developing genuine rapport on both sides of the camera. Workshops will be held every Thurs in May ( 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th) in the Williamson Foyer at The Ballarat Mechanics Institute from 7pm- 8.30pm and are ideal for people who wish to capture family history, club history, scene history, specific event history or just wish to celebrate and preserve the memories of people they are close to or have admiration for.
