19.01.2022 Pilates back extension series is super important part of the practice. We want to improve our core strength but quite often this part is left out. You work the front, you need to work the back. The back extension exercises are a maneuver utilised to work the erector spine and other smaller stabilising muscles of the back.... Performing these with good technique & control is essential. Not all extensions will suit everyone so it's important you see a professional if you have existing injuries. Doing these will help increase your ability to coordinate movement through your lower back. They will also work your muscles in your booty, hips, thighs & arms when using different variations. They may help alleviate some lower back pain. Tuesday 8 am class working through their spine series this morning. 18.01.2022 Trapeze superstars this morning Trapeze Yoga is a little different from Ariel yoga & Yoga on the mat. It is quite Fitness based. It incorporates a TRX type workout, mixed in with flying Yoga poses & inversions.... You will get a sweat up & the heart pumping but still, work on flexibility in the body whilst combining breath with movement. It's not an advanced class, options are always given. People often complain that healthier food is more expensive or they can't afford personal training, gym memberships etc but when it comes down to it they can afford those $20 night long cocktails on the wkd. People have money for what they truly want to spend it on. If you don’t have the energy to walk a set of stairs or play with your kids that's an issue! ... Leaving these things for another I’ll start Monday... may lead to more expenses & a lot harder later in life. People often talk about wanting more energy but then don’t do much about it except aim for the next coffee which eventually doesn’t do the trick as good as it used too. Your health is your quality of life, so invest in eating healthier, invest in an exercise program, invest in a good sleep routine, invest in your mental health and watch your life transform for the better. 11.01.2022 Flying Dancers Pose (Natarajasana) One of my fav poses, always feels so good in the moment & after. It tones and strengthens the leg muscles, stretches and opens the shoulders and chest, improves balance, and focuses the mind. ... What is great about doing this pose on the trapeze opposed to doing it in a mat class is some people struggle to pick up their ankle whether its flexibility in their legs or in their shoulder this is very much like doing it assisted which is so beneficial to help open & release those tights spots. Talk to someone you trust or a phycologist about the situation & your feelings. Its amazing how much talking through something can help lift your spirits. 7. Breathe. 8. Never feel your alone. 08.01.2022 6 weeks vs Half way Not as smooth sailing as my first pregnancy. Had to change my training around big time this time. Quite hard mentally at first especially to give up running so early when I love it & its a form of meditation for me. But thankfully I can still workout being extra mindful in my training which if anything will help my training in the future. ... Its hard when your body starts changing, even know this is something you want, it is still hard mentally to give up your body & things you love for 9-10 months of carrying your little one. (Longer if your breastfeeding ) So to all the Mummas/Mumma’s to be, be proud of yourself & know that your doing an amazing job. Its a tough gig growing a human & know wonder we feel like bitting peoples heads off sometimes

02.01.2022 T planks Great for core strength, its more of a advanced core exercise. A variation of the Plank & side plank.... How to do it: 1 Start in push up position. 2 Brace your core as you start to rotate your body & feet to one side. 3 Extend your arm straight up to the sky whilst keeping the other arm strongly planted on the floor. 4 Return to centre & pause. 5 Repeat on the other side. Try 10 reps each side. Monday mornings semi-private PT group giving it a real go this morning.

01.01.2022 Keeping fit during pregnancy can be a challenge and sometimes hard to find that motivation to get moving but It certainly makes things easier throughout & after. Here is 7 tips to help keep you healthy & fit during your pregnancy: 1. Don’t use the excuse: I’m eating for 2 ... After the first trimester you only need a extra 350-450 calories as your pregnancy progresses. 2. Eat healthy versions of your comfort food. 3. Get a workout plan done by a professional that will suit you & how your pregnancy is progressing. Having someone to monitor you & keep you motivated will help tremendously. 4. Stretch those tight areas, pregnancy yoga classes or or videos. 5. Don’t drink your calories, easiest way to stack on weight. Keep water intake up & ensure you drink a full glass of water 20mins before each meal. 6. Having a set meal plan to follow will also help keep you on track. 7. Do your kegels, keeping up on your pelvic floor exercises & good abdominal bracing will make things smoother when your baby arrives. Quicker healing & repair. Join a Pregnancy Pilates class or contact a professional if your unsure of exercises to do.
