19.01.2022 Dear readers, Well it can not be denied 2020 got off to a pretty terrible start. In Australia we had terrible drought followed by catastrophic fires. Then came the world wide pandemic that has brought so much pain to so many.... And whilst this horrific pandemic is still with us we have disastrous riots and rallies around the world. I was recently in Cowra, home to Australia's Peace Bell. So I gave it a dong. Doubt it will help, but it sure can't hurt. Keep your heads up people. Keep yourselves safe and don't let the hostility and insanity of the few, fanned by the media, get you down.

10.01.2022 Dear readers, While hiking around Mt Kembla recently, I came across this old miners cottage. Stories surrounding it are that it is haunted by an unknown spirit. Nearby is a small cemetery that has a number of victims from the 1902 Mt Kembla mine disaster, in which 96 men and boys lost their lives, buried there. If the old cottage is visited by a spirit, perhaps it's the spirit of one of those victims who may have visited or even lived in the cottage before that dreadful da...y, 31st July, 1902. If I write a sequel to my book, Encounters With The Spirit World, this story would be an interesting one to add and is certainly worth further investigation. https://www.brettwright.com.au/shop/ See more

09.01.2022 Dear readers, I recently spent a wonderful weekend in Cowra, NSW, where I visited the site of the WWII Japanese and Italian prison of war camp. The history here is well presented and respectfully narrated by a brilliant audio recording that plays automatically when you enter the site, next to the replica guard tower. ... For those interested in Australian history, I highly recommend a visit. We stopped in a number of country towns along the way including Gunning and Crookwell. The bakeries in these country towns do sensational pies and treats. And the locals very much appreciate visitors who they can share the wonders of their towns with. So if you have the means, please consider a trip out to our country areas. They really are quite spectacular and you will also be helping towns still recovering from drought and fire.

07.01.2022 Wonderful and long overdue news that Teddy Sheehan is finally going to be recommended for the Victoria Cross for his incredibly brave actions in 1942 when his ship, HMAS Armidale was sunk by the Japanese. Sheehan strapped himself to his gun and continued to fire at the Japanese aircraft, (that were strafing his fellow shipmates in the water), destroying one, as his ship sunk under him, taking him down with it. Well done Scott Morrison for finally correcting a wrong and making this happen.
