25.01.2022 Lots of cuddles with Aunty Brett! Did you know, our beloved Brett Piccinelli - Whitsunday Doula is at Kissun Clinics on Thursdays and Fridays offering health ad...vice to expectant and new mums. Brett was present for the entirety of little Eva's birth and offered priceless support to both mum and dad on that magical day. Do you know someone who is pregnant and would benefit from having a professional Doula support mum, advocate on their behalf and be there for dad while baby takes the journey? Contact Brett at Kissun Clinics or through her Facebook page. I highly recommend it. Actually, I cannot imagine that day without her, she was trully amazing. -Rowena

23.01.2022 What do you do when you’re committed to being there for the women of your community but want to learn healing arts from around the world?.. You bring the teach...ers to you! I’m in the process of bringing to life a 3 day workshop diving into the self care practices of The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy facilitated by Lisa Levine. I came to hear about Arvigo therapy when I travelled to the Birth without Fear Conference in Brisbane and sat next a lovely woman who introduced herself as Lisa. Lisa told me about her work with Arvigo Therapy in fertility and preconception and how this therapy works to restore the flow of blood, lymph, nerve and energy to help with menstrual issues, digestive issues, pain and emotional clearing. I was beyond intrigued! Arvigo self care is something I’m diving deeper into for my own personal healing and wellness journey and if you feel called I’d love to invite you to share it with me. If I’ve learnt anything since I started my work as a doula in the Whitsundays it’s that our community is open and hungry for new offerings. This is another reason why instead of travelling to explore this new healing modality I’ve decided to bring the learning home to share with my community. If you know someone who would love this opportunity spread the word their way! Waterfront accommodation available for travelling attendees I have created a group for those interested in joining me this November find it here Arvigo Self-Care Workshop Whitsundays

22.01.2022 This is just too beautiful not to share

22.01.2022 I dove head first into The Spiritual Midwife's Online Natural Birth Course today and Wow am I excited to have such a beautiful new offering to recommend to my clients. How refreshing to have a course out there that acknowledges the rite of passage and the powerful journey that is preparing for birth! Anna brings such a unique wisdom and works from a place of true authenticity looking at birth as an opportunity for personal empowerment and even transformation. ... Being online makes this work so accessable - which is a huge plus for me and my clients! I'm only in the first module and I am so beyond impressed.. Deepening childbirth preparation to include cultivating your connection to your inner wisdom and trusting your intuition - SO INCREDIBLY POWERFUL! Thank You Anna!

20.01.2022 I made a video to explain a little more about The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy and the 3 day Self-Care Retreat coming up very soon! https://facebook.com/events/443807866477607/?ti=icl

19.01.2022 Regarding umedicated, physiological birth, well, there is good news, and bad news. The bad news: you cannot be saved. You can have a midwife, you can have a ...doula, but it is you alone who must journey to another dimension, to claim your baby. This is spiritual work. We cannot come with you. The good news? You. don’t. need. saving. You see, over time we’ve capitulated to the idea that we shouldn’t need to feel the full extent of the birthing process. Or, that if things get too hard, we’re doing something wrong. We will agree, up front, to a certain amount of sensation, but beyond that it’s too much. What if you knew up front that you were going to be thoroughly decimated? What if you understood: birth will bring you to your edge, and beyond that edge there is another edge, and then another, and another? What if, you understood that up front, and gave the universe a handshake and a nod that you’re up for it. This is NOT about martyrdom. This IS about reframing most of what you’ve been led to believe about childbirth. And what if it is not without divine purpose. It IS big, yes. It is ok to be overwhelmed, and even scared because HOLY SHIT, NOTHING has prepared you for this (not even your previous births). It’s ok to not know what to do. And it is ok to do it anyway. The sensations, and our thoughts that come up because of them, in no way mean anything is wrong. Surrender. Over and over, soften your muscles, rest between surges, and do it again. Holy shit, y’all. We came to this earth, in these bodies, because WE ARE CAPABLE. We were given THE highest honor among humans. And it is BECAUSE of this POWER and CAPACITY we have been convinced of the spin stories. You can curse, and sweat, and cry, and doubt yourself, even wish for a fucking epidural, and you can do. it. anyway. You will emerge from the storm, a tiny boat on the vast ocean just after an epic storm, intact, forever changed, and weathered by the salt of your sweat and tears. This. THIS is your #birthright. @jotisha . - Reposted from @heartofgoldbirth See more

17.01.2022 Meet our WONDERFUL teacher Lisa Levine Certified Practitioner of The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy Lisa has been in the healing profession since ...1992 and has an extensive background in massage, yoga and acupuncture. She now specializes almost exclusively in Arvigo Therapy as she has seen life changing results both personally and professionally. Lisa first learned about the common practice of abdominal massage among Mayan healers and midwives while living and working in Mexico 20 years ago. After reading Sastun; My Apprentice with a Maya Healer by Rosita Arvigo Lisa traveled to Belize many times where Rosita herself gave her herbal formulas to treat the painful menstruation she had been experiencing from a young age. Years later while living in Australia Lisa discovered that like many other women she had fibroids. By chance a friend gave her an article about Arvigo Therapy, rekindling her interest in the modality and prompting her to complete a self-care workshop (highly recommended for everyone) and to train to become and practitioner and teacher of these techniques. Lisa is based in Singapore where she works with women and couples on their wellness and fertility journeys and also travels the world teaching self-care and providing Arvigo Therapy treatments. Lisa believes that our lack of understanding and connection with our bodies is detrimental to our health, particularly for women. It is the education involved with this work that she is passionate about sharing and what continues to inspire her work with Arvigo Therapy. I’m so looking forward to welcoming Lisa to the Whitsundays for the 3 day self-care workshop retreat! 07.01.2022 Doula In Training I have been busy! On top of everything else going on in my life, I have also returned to the school bench! I am soo excited to share this wi...th you all! This has been something I always wanted to add to my services, especially my Birth Story clients. How can I provide more value to my wonderful families, enrich their birth experience and support them the best way possible, beyond images? Well for me, this was to educate myself. To learn new things. To expand my knowledge. And to put in the time and effort to get a certification. I'm currently studying to become a Doula To help me with my studying, I have decided to open up my heart and busy schedule to one family, who might need, or want, some birth support. This can be hands on support, emotional support, or just a friendly face. This can also be me sitting quietly on the sidelines and it is an amazing opportunity for you to score some birth photos! This is a great opportunity for you if you are due with a baby in the next few weeks. I have so much to offer you and would love to walk beside you during your labour journey. I will also offer my postpartum services which will be amazing after you've had a baby! Please reach out to me if you are interested in knowing more and we can chat. At this stage I'm looking at September and October births only. Do you know someone due in these months? Can you please tag or share to share the love. I appreciate the help. Thank you!

We have limited spaces to keep this a safe/held container. Please contact Myself through the Whitsunday Doula page to reserve your place in the group.
