It helps to reduce grain from scorching or blocking the pump at the bottom of the boiler. The grains are blocked from entering the overflow pipe. Hooray!

If above 35c it will ferment in just 2 or 3 days with NO off flavours. It's happy to ferment between 25c to 40c but really loves 35c to 40c.
