25.01.2022 As a reminder here are the SIMPLIFIED Rules of Futsal that we are playing to in the Bribie Senior League. 1. Each team has 5 players on the court - one of whom MUST be the goalkeeper. 2. For a game to progress a team must have a minimum of 3 players from their team on the court. Less than three players means that the team automatically forfeits 0-5. (For the Bribie League, a team can have fill-ins but the fill-in's goals will not count towards the final match result)... 3. Players must wear non-marking soled shoes. 4. Flying substitutions are allowed throughout the game- without notifying the referee. (Goalkeeper's should only be substituted during a stoppage in play). 5. A goal CANNOT be scored directly from a sideline kick in, an indirect free kick or a kickoff (starting or restarting a game) 6. Other than #5 above, a goal may be scored from anywhere on the court (within the necessary rules of the game). 7. The WHOLE of the ball must cross the WHOLE of the line for the referee to award a corner, goal, goal clearance etc. 8. There are NO offsides! 9. Slide tackles are NOT allowed in a game of futsal by any players except goalkeepers (see # 18) 10. Shoulder charging is NOT allowed. 11. Aggressive / Dangerous play is NOT allowed. 12. There is a 4 second time limit placed on all set plays (corners, free kicks, etc). 13. 5 accumulated team fouls are allowed each half (per team). Each subsequent foul is rewarded by a 10 metre penalty shot to the opposition team. 14. To restart the game from the sideline the KICK IN replaces the throw in. The ball cannot be moving and the player must have both feet on or outside the sideline. 15. To restart the game by a GOAL (kick) CLEARANCE, the goalkeeper must THROW the ball into play. 16. A goalkeeper CANNOT throw or dropkick/punt the ball over the 2/3 line on the 'full'. 17. Once distributed by the goalkeeper (in his/her own half) the ball may NOT be touched again by him/her until the ball has either touched an opponent or has crossed the halfway line. 18. A goalkeeper may NOT handle the ball from a back pass or kick in and is restricted to 4 seconds on the ball in his/her own half of the field of play. 19. Goalkeepers can only slide (side on) within the confines of their own penalty area. Sliding feet first toward an opponent is illegal (dangerous play). 20. Goalkeepers may only handle the ball within their own penalty areas (Ds) 21. Players must retreat 4 steps from the ball at all 'set' plays. 22. Players CANNOT play the ball whilst lying on the ground IF an opponent is within playing distance of the ball. 23. Referees ALWAYS have the final say in ALL match decisions, please accept those decisions and respect our officials and the sometimes difficult work they do! (No refs, No games ?) 24. Referees control games (if necessary) with YELLOW (caution) and RED (expulsion) cards.

Where did you get your passion for soccer?... Growing up in the UK in the 80s meant that it was like a religion and there was so much passion for your team. Every Saturday wed get all of our friends together, put our t-shirts and jackets down for goal posts and have a kickaround for a couple of hours. Then when we were tired wed go home and watch the professionals on the TV. There were some great rivalries in the English league so once you were committed to a team you followed them through thick and thin. What's your primary philosophy when teaching kids soccer? First of all they must be having fun. Second they must be improving their technical skills. We do this by placing emphasis on drills that build in complexity as the childrens abilities increase. Its about making sure the children progress while enjoying the process. What life skills do you think kids learn from soccer? Discipline, teamwork, focus, concentration and determination. They also learn to accept the challenge of constantly trying to improve themselves while at the same time showing true sportsmanship. it also teaches them that no matter if you win or lose you can learn something from each performance. Why do you think Bribie Indoor Soccer is the best place to learn soccer (for kids) and to play socially (for adults) Its great for the kids because we have a structure that allows all ages to work together while improving speed, agility, strength, technical ability and teamwork. We also build confidence by structuring the teams so that teams are as equal as possible. This leads to fun, action packed games where mistakes are accepted and learning is improved.Adults enjoy the fitness side, and the social aspect with a high level of respect. We all have to go to work the next day so we dont allow any over the top antics that may injure players. We have had players and teams that have been with us for many years. Whats the best thing about Bribie Indoor Soccer? Its an all inclusive environment. Whether you have played for 10 years or are brand new to the sport, we make everyone feel welcome and challenge them to improve their skills and fitness in a caring, nurturing, respectful manner. Whats are most rewarding things about running Bribie Indoor Soccer? I get to impact the next generation of players and it doesnt matter about your background. People from all walks of life join together for the good of the game.

Soccer, Dodgeball, SAQ (Speed, Agility, Quickness), Team Pictionary, Water fight (weather permitting) Places will be limited. Ages 6 years and up... 09.01.2022 Now that footy and outdoor soccer seasons have finished its time to jump back into indoor soccer at Bribie High School. Games are on Mondays at 4pm for ages 4-8 and 4:30 for ages 9+ On Wednesdays we have training and a game for all ages at 4pm. Only $10 per session.
