25.01.2022 SUE'S ZONTA STORY...Sue Brown is a charter member of our Club (ZCB) joining in1980, that’s 40 years ago. As one of its founding members Sue feels it’s an hono...ur to be celebrating the Zonta Club Bendigo 40th birthday and the opportunity to reflect on many years of service & advocacy. Sue was unaware of Zonta and until she received an invitation to discuss starting a Zonta Club here in Bendigo. Being a service club, she was very keen as she always had an interest in helping others, locally and internationally. Sue says the best part of being a Zontian is working with club members to support the range of service and advocacy projects. Over the years these include raising money for a bus to collect older clients for the day centre; birthing kits assembly days and organising working bees to make Breast cushions to name a few. Sue has been our breast cushion co-ordinator since 2007. It’s to her credit more than 1800 breast cushions have been made and distributed to local women recovering from breast cancer surgery through local, regional and Melbourne hospitals. Sue actively supports the annual ZCB International Women’s Day dinner, assisting raising funds for scholarships & awards, in turn supporting women to achieve their dreams and further their education. Birthing Kits is another project sitting close to Sue’s heart, undoubtedly saving the lives of mothers and their babies. Sue continues as a committed member knowing she is making a real difference in the lives of women and children. See more

A check of their microchip details has been unable to locate the owner. This highlights the importance of ensuring animals are properly registered and all contact details are up to date on your pet’s microchip records so that we can quickly reunite pets and owners. It would be great if we could return them home as soon as possible. If you are the owner or know who may be, please contact Loddon Shire Council’s Local Laws Section on 5494 1200.
