21.01.2022 The UN Convention on The Rights of the child Article 31 recognizes the right of every child to rest, leisure, play, recreational activities and free and full participation in cultural and artistic life. These photos are of our 2-4 room. ‘Play is the way to learn’. #ece #eylf #brightbeginningscc #learningthroughplay #childledlearning #openendedplay

21.01.2022 It’s safe to say our mud kitchen was one of the most popular places to be this morning as differing age groups collaborated on a ‘restaurant’ based play scenario and made some delicious cakes. #ece #brightbeginningscc #eylf #cookinginthemudkitchen

20.01.2022 Delivery for Bright Beginnings. The Jane Goodall Roots and Shoots Program and books have just been delivered. There are some lovely Australian books to go through. #ece #eylf #rootsandshootsaustralia #learningthroughplay #literacyrich

19.01.2022 Adventure awaits at Bright Beginnings....The children are always encouraging each other to challenge themselves. Today the preschoolers created a challenge of using the branches on our climbing tree to swing. #ece #eylf #brightbeginningscc #childledlearning #adventureplay #natureplay

18.01.2022 We waiting in anticipation for Preschool Teacher Sue to show us how to use a box to make a puppet theatre. Once down our finger puppets became the star of the show; that or the how many hands can fit show... #ece #eylf #brightbeginningscc #learningthroughplay #recycledboxes

16.01.2022 Do you want to teach your child about road safety. Don’t forget to point out signs and environmental print when you are out and about. Another way to teach children about literacy and road safety is through play. Some small world transport play as seen here in our middle room this week (2-4 year olds). Or even a quick flick on the kids and traffic website can provide you with some wonderful information. #ece #brightbeginningscc #kidsandtrafficnsw #eylf #teachingchildrenaboutroadsafety #learningthroughplay #environmentalprint

16.01.2022 Authentically child driven writing. Jan what’s your favourite thing about Christmas? I’m doing a list. My reply was the food. Do you mean Christmas Lunch? I will write that down. No need for stencils, no need for prepared plans. But let’s talk about the care and empathy this preschooler took to ask his educators the questions and share in the joy of Christmas. #ece #eylf #noneedforstencils #authenticchilddrivencurriculum #brightbeginningscc #learningthroughplay

15.01.2022 What makes a ‘Christmas Tree?’ Yes the festive conversations and excitement has begun.... we thought we would use this opportunity to give our preschoolers ownership of what our preschool room decoration would look like. We discussed the difference between the trees; which was more ‘child-focussed and driven’ which is what we strive for in our preschool room. #ece #eylf #brightbeginningscc #feelingfestive #natureplay #reflectiveeducators

14.01.2022 A wonderful way to turn a conventional puzzle into a loose part open ended experience. Our middle room (2-4 years) have dug out some traditional Montessori sorting drawers and combined them with some Plan Toys number puzzle pieces. #ece #brightbeginningscc #montessorisortingdrawers #eylf #loosepartsplay #learningthroughplay

09.01.2022 A little Wednesday inspiration from John Holt. This is why play based and holistic approaches are important. Our role as early childhood educators and teachers is to inspire, assist and create a nurturing space where children have a sense of belonging and develop a commitment to life long learning. #ece #eylf #brightbeginningscc #reflectiveeducators #childledlearning #inspirededucators #preschoolteachers #preschoollife

08.01.2022 A Christmas visitor over here at Bright Beginnings. Our preschoolers love ‘all creatures great and small’ of course when something is found they want to share it with their friends. We will be investigating further throughout the day #stickinsect #ece #brightbeginningscc #eylf #aweandwonder

08.01.2022 Caption: ‘Little Hands At Play.’ ‘Before we ever put a pencil in a child’s hands, those hands should dig, climb, press, pull, squish, twist, and pinch in a wide array of environments and with a variety of materials.’ - Amanda Morgan . Just look at the different grips our nursery children are discovering through play. #learningthroughplay #brightbeginningscc #eylf #ece #playprovisions

07.01.2022 How awesome is our train track and felt (Steiner) farm? When viewing it this afternoon a visiting preschooler instructs no the chicken goes in the farm, not on the track. So why did the chicken cross the track? Ha-ha!! #ece #smallworldplay #woodentraintrack #eylf #learningthroughplay #brightbeginningscc

07.01.2022 ‘The greatest sign of success for a teacher... is to be able to say, 'The children are now working as if I did not exist.’ - Maria Montessori. As teachers and educators we are often in awe at the independence and maturity of the preschoolers. Today we observed one preschooler use his questioning skills with several of his friends (who were waiting in anticipation of his words) hey guys how are we going to hold the sticks up? Next came ‘the ideas’ we can balance them. we can put them over it. We can hold them up. The answers came in thick and fast as the preschoolers worked together to create their own play. #ece #eylf #brightbeginningscc #learningthroughplay #childledlearning

06.01.2022 We always love when a parcel arrives. Today’s gift is from Transport NSW. We can’t wait to play the lotto game and read the new information supplied in the Gazette. As educators will also be reflecting on the Maths, Science and Road Safety Education information @transportfornsw @kidsandtraffic #ece #brightbeginningscc #eylf #learningthroughplay #roadsafetyforchildren #kidsandtraffic
