18.01.2022 To get a tight centre on your spiral you need to press down on the centre point when you're wrapping it firmly. When your dyeing your spiral carefully dye the centre trying not to overlap the dyes. 16.01.2022 We've been getting lots of messages about how to Tie-Dye your own doona covers. If you want to tie-dye your own sheets or doona here are some tips. Practice on smaller items first so you learn the basics. Step up to tying & dyeing flat things like table cloths and sheets. You've got a lot more fabric to tie into patterns so you'll need a big flat space (eg the lounge room floor) to spread out and fold.... When you're ready to tie dye your doona cover make sure it's 100% plant-based fabric (eg cotton, bamboo) so it dyes bright and beautifully. Depending on your pattern you can dye one side like we have, or both sides. Your doona cover will soak up lots of dye so make sure you have enough to dye both sides. My Nanna was a seamstress in London during WWII, she gave my mum a sewing box when she was young. I remember both Nanna & my mum giving me jars of buttons to play with when I was little & a yellow sewing box whend was in primary school. To be honest I hated sewing lessons st school as I had a scary sewing teacher.
