17.01.2022 Just wanting to send a great big THANK YOU to all our clients for allowing us to help them improve their health and work towards achieving their lifestyle goals this year! Whatever changes you made big or small here's a CHEERS to you! We love doing what we do but we need a well deserved break as I am sure you all do too!... So please have a lovely time out from our normal/ not normal routine this year, make sure you do something to destress and re-energise and we will see you back again in 2021 around Jan 5th!
16.01.2022 Nutrition myths about the immune system are out there too. Here is an easy to understand explanation on how our immune system works that is worth a read! https://bedthreads.com.au//j/immune-health-facts-and-myths
16.01.2022 As a Dietitian who has worked in cancer clinics, if you ask me I highly recommend that everyone undergoing any kind of cancer therapy see a Dietitian to make sure they are keeping themselves as strong as possible with good nutrition particularly when energy and protein needs are greatly increased. Here are some great tips from a colleague on what to eat during chemotherapy treatment. https://www.sbs.com.au//what-eat-when-youre-going-through-
15.01.2022 FRESH SNACK ATTACK: Madagascan beans. This is my first proper harvest of Madagascan beans aka Lima or butter beans. You can eat them fresh from the vine after depodding, just like peas. A great crunchy snack, jam packed with protein, slow release carbs and fibre to satisfy your hunger as well as a range of B vitamins including folate.... You can also allow them to dry for storage after which you will need to soak overnight and cook them for your one pot wonder casserole or chill to toss on a salad. Curious little hands will want to help and learn all about the Madagascan beans too! #brightdiets #healthysnacks #knowyourfoodloveyourfood #eatlikeanecowarrior #freshfood #homegrown #organicfood

07.01.2022 Here is some great allergy substitution advice from a colleague to make it easier to live with allergies/intolerances. However, for those with true allergies I would err on the side of caution and check with your allergist or dietitian first before eating a lot of the one new food. https://coach.nine.com.au//78ec6429-4ce0-4525-b447-93deec8
05.01.2022 GLUTEN FREE BREKKY: Quinoa porridge As dietitians we say eat everything in moderation so we have a good balance of foods and nutrients, and that often includes expanding they types of grains we eat. This quinoa porridge made on soy milk has a light and fluffy texture with a slightly nutty flavour. Matched with my native raspberries it was a brekky treat!... Quinoa is a good source of protein, slow release carbohydrates, fibre, magnesium and B vitamins like thiamin and folate. A must to eat regularly for anyone who is eating vegetarian, vegan or gluten free. #brightdiets #quinoaporridge #glutenfree #healthybreakfast
