04.05.2022 Today I painted the Picnic Bay Lifesaver club and yard, one of the nice places for a swim. Cheers

29.04.2022 My newest A3 watercolour painting is again of Idyllic Pacific Island life. It is the place where I first lived in the tropical Pacific in the early 1970s I have never turned my back on the tropics. It has so much I love....coral reefs, mountains, atolls, unique plants and land animals, and comfortable temperatures especially in winter months. Cheers.

22.04.2022 Andy Lewis's many photographs of sunrise on Magnetic Island (Yunbenun) prompted me to watercolour paint my sunrise even though I didn't get up that early. Cheers

05.04.2022 Just an ink and watercolour sketch of Idyllic Tropics done yesterday. Cheers

17.03.2022 My watercolour painting on 16 March 2022 imagines Geoffrey bay before development. Cheers

04.03.2022 When I painted a picture of Geoffrey bay last week I was intrigued by the dense coconut tree clumping that made the lower trunk look like elephant legs. So this painting done today intertwines fog elephants and coconut trees. Cheers.

13.02.2022 I have not painted for a couple of weeks. Too busy with some renovations in my aquarium. Today I painted an A3 of two no. Qld. butterflies; a Cairns birdwing and a Ulysses. Cheers

29.01.2022 The little olive-backed sunbirds in No. Queensland make their hanging nests in our gardens and even on our verandahs or breezeway. My painting this weekend is dedicated to these lovely birds. Cheers, Rick

20.01.2022 My painting this afternoon I am calling Sailing Dream. It was enjoyable to paint. Cheers, Rick

19.01.2022 these are some of the watercolour paintings I have done since COVID-19 . Some paintings are from various bays on beautiful Magnetic Island and some from memory or an idea. Contact me by my email if you are interested at [email protected] Cheers, Rick

18.01.2022 two cockatoos flying over Rocky Bay, Magnetic Island, and Alma Bay in the morning

17.01.2022 sea turtle andn anemonefish on corala reef

16.01.2022 Today's watercolour painting is a Horseshoe Bay sunset embellished with the Tongan volcano ash in the atmosphere. Thinking of the Tongan people now after that massive eruption. I lived and worked there from 1973-76. Peace, Rick

04.01.2022 While spending time at home to avoid getting Covid I have watercolour painted a koala and joey in a gum tree. Magnetic Island has a healthy population of koalas. Cheers, Rick

02.01.2022 New Years day afternoon was fun to watercolour paint with my daughter Fia, here from Melbourne for a few days. We painted the Fale (gazebo) along the creek bank with hammocks. Cheers, Rick & Fia
