01.01.2022 Here's a copy of the newsletter we just sent our customers - we hope you enjoy reading. Seasons Greetings to all! Dear Customer, What an interesting year 2016 has been for us all. While Australia has remained relatively untouched by events around the world, it’s still been a pretty rough year! I mean, we had:... - The loss of David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Prince, Muhammad Ali, and John Glenn. - Then Kanye West announced he wanted to do covers of David Bowie. - There were some terrible natural disasters around the world and terror attacks across Europe. - And of course then there was Brexit and *that* election. A pretty terrible year, right? Well not really! We often focus so much on all the bad things that are happening around us, we forget to focus on all the beautiful and memorable moments, like: - Wild tigers experience their first population increase in 100 years and the Giant Panda has now been removed from the endangered species list! - The Zika virus is no longer considered a global threat, and the first person to be treated with an experimental HIV drug has been cured. - That so 2015 ALS ice bucket challenge actually worked the funds raised from all those kids on the internet directly contributed to an ALS breakthrough! - Science and the environment also did well this year - the Juno spacecraft reached Jupiter after its long journey, and the Paris Climate Change Agreement kicked off in November, with 55% of the countries contributing to the world’s carbon emissions agreeing to all do their part to help the environment. Add to that volunteers planted 50 million trees in India in 24 hours, breaking all previous World Records! - And Leo finally got that Oscar. So as we wind up this somewhat difficult year and get to spend time with our family and friends, just remember what Fred Rogers (aka Mr. Rogers) once said - When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping. Well we hope we've helped in some small way this year, and look forward to partnering with you in 2017. Have a wonderful Christmas break and a Happy New Year! Warm regards, Your team at Brightlabs
