04.01.2022 How do face masks stop the spread of infection? For many of us, including aged care workers, wearing masks has become part of daily life. Masks will be compulsory in Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire from midnight (22 July 2020) and those who fail to wear a mask will be issued with a $200 fine. Mary-Louise McLaws, an epidemiologist and WHO adviser, recently told the ABC that a similar order should be implemented across the whole of Sydney to stem the outbreak in New South Wales.
