13.01.2022 Kick Start Your New Year!! It is that time of year where Christmas is long gone, and the holidays are finally over. Kids have returned to school and businesses are back up and running. So how do we adjust to this new year and getting back into life after the holidays? Here are some tips to assist with getting you back into the swing of life.... 1. Give yourself time to establish a new routine It is hard to get back into the swing of everyday life without a routine. Plan your weeks according to your work and family commitments. Schedule some time for yourself and your health commitments, inform those close to you about your commitments so they may hold you accountable for your commitments. 2. Start small Getting back into eating right and exercising is always hard, so start small. You may have been at your peak last year but have since had time off over Christmas. Or the new year may be a chance to turn over a new leaf. Start small and work your way up, anything is better than nothing. 3. Set goals for this year Give some thought to your health and fitness goals for the year and begin setting yourself small and realistic goals to work towards your end goal. 4. Make time for family & friends by making future plans Have something to look forward to. Whether it be a trip to the zoo, or going out with friends for a nice meal, start scheduling in events that you will look forward to and will give you something to work towards. 5. Get into a good sleep routine Establish a regular sleep routine to keep you feeling refreshed and energised. 6. Drink plenty of water Make sure you drink water, this will help you to stop snacking between meals and will leave your skin and body feeling refreshed and healthy. So, stop the soft drinks and switch to water instead. Let 2018 be your year to shine. If you need some assistance to reach your peak our team at Brighton Beach Physiotherapy are only a phone call or email away (08) 9304 4100 or [email protected]
