23.01.2022 HAPPY 15th BIRTHDAY Our dear (old) super Spice is celebrating her birthday today. She has reached the amazing age of 15. She is not at all slowing dow...n, in fact last weekend she joined us on an 8k walk and she didn’t slow us down at all ... amazing! And great breeding (thanks Kate & Karen of Mazasuka for breeding this special girl) She is the foundation of the BRIMFELDT clan and is a Great Great Grandma. We can only hope she has passed her wonderful genes onto all her kids! We have no idea if her siblings are still alive but if they are we wish them a happy birthday too. Spice is one of 3, yet she herself produced enormous litters of no less than 10 in each. We hope to have her with us for more years yet. Tonight we raise a glass or two to this special lady

Ziva did a great job gliding around the ring and was awarded Neuter Challenge for her trouble. She now has some more points towards her Champion title.... Proud of our Brimfeldt kids

20.01.2022 [Credit: Written by Lydia Whiteway of Blazintails Australian Shepherds] When it comes to colour. Having read a lot of puppy requests lately one thing keeps coming up. The majority of requests are for Blue Merle puppies. I would just like to point out the following. ... There are 4 main colours/patterns in our breed. Blue Merle, Black Tri, Red Merle and Red Tri. And there are also variations of those colours as seen in the diagram. Depending on the parents of that mating the number of Blue Merle puppies in a litter will statistically vary between 25% and 50%. So out of a large litter of 8 puppies we may be lucky enough to get 2 to 4 Blue Merles. If you also request a particular sex say a female Blue Merle then your odds are halved again. So in that litter of 8 there may only be one female Blue Merle. For smaller litters the odds go down accordingly. While I respect personal choice when it comes to sex and colour I would love people to consider, are you looking for an Australian Shepherd that will suit your lifestyle or just a blue merle dog? Many other breeds come in Blue Merle also. Border Collies, Shelties, Collies, Koolies, Corgis, Dashhounds, Great Danes and more. If you have your heart set on a Blue Merle Australian Shepherd that is fine but please realise you may be waiting a very long time and turning down the perfect puppy otherwise. As breeders we cant order exactly what you would like and some breeders like myself will not home based on colour as they feel temperament and other factors should come first when matching puppies to homes. 07.01.2022 Our Ziva has had another successful show yesterday! Well actually 2 shows, Yarra Glen KC held an AM & PM show. Our little (late blooming @ 10.5 yo) Superstar , won Best Neuter of Breed at both shows and in the afternoon also managed a Runner Up in Group. She is now halfway to her Neuter Champion title.

02.01.2022 We had a huge day out Truffle hunting today. 10am Grantville - Truffle Paddock 12noon Jumbunna - Truffle House 3:30 Sherbrooke - Burnham Beeches... Dora, our super star, performed in the lead role in each hunt, ably accompanied by Trix in the first hunt; Forrest & Comet in the 2nd hunt; and Trix again for the final hunt. Phew, a big day done & dusted and now everyone is snoozing ....
