22.01.2022 Dear Families, Thank you for your support and kindness during the changes that have come about today. I would like to commend your children for their resilience in such a sad and uncertain situation, they really were troopers! On Thursday and Friday, we will be having SITE CLOSURE with the exception of the children of essential workers. Essential workers are prescribed on the SA Health site, please check if you are unsure. If you are an essential worker, you are able to brin...g your child to school but we ask you do not come into our learning spaces. We will be operating with skeleton staff and the program offered will be modified. There will be more details to come about this in the next few hours. At this stage, Monday and Tuesday are PUPIL FREE DAYS however, as more information comes out I will keep you up to date. Let’s go one day at a time with the sudden changes that are happening. Please be in touch if you need any further support. Stay safe! Kind Regards, Kel Barns

In the afternoon we will be Christmas Creatives and set up a beautiful Christmas display! We will finish the day with a Christmas movie ... For those of you staying home, you might like to begin designing a Christmas Tree that could go at the front of your home or driveway. You would need to think about how big it will be, what it be made out of and how you will decorate it. The making will be so fun, but the planning is essential. A TEAMS meeting will happen at 2:00pm for those who are around.

We used special brushes and ink to create words like sushi, yume (dream), tomo (friend) and ai (lov...e). Arigato Gozaimasu Kobashi Sensai for coming up from Open Access College - South Australia! 09.01.2022 THE UPDATE: We are headed home! Over the next 6 days the entire state is in lockdown. Tonight we will be sending home the children with iPads and laptops if they are required. They will also take their trays home. There is a potential this could continue. ... THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM: - Thursday and Friday are closure days. - Monday and Tuesday are pupil free days. 08.01.2022 Inquiry Friday! Today we began our day with some special making and preparing. After recess, teams of people helped Mr Lee to lay the irrigation, complete with timer system, that had been measured, costed and planned by our year 6’s. This was laid on our orchard area in preparation for the summer months. It’s great to see learners sharing their expert knowledge with each other and making connections to their home. ... We also cooked a Thai Veggie stir fry. The most amazing thing was that we had grown most of the veggies ourselves or they had been donated which kept our costs low. Other groups began data collection to name our chook yard which will now be affectionately known as The Brinky Bantams. We are going to begin the ala-natural incubation process again next week in the yard and see if this works. Fingers crossed! We finished with some planting and recording our day in our sustainability journals. It was lovely to share our site with local permaculture expert Jared Murray too! We loved showing him the sites and the changes the learners have created. Have a happy weekend!
