25.01.2022 Just getting in early. This Saturday is Grand Final day, hard to believe it's end of another season. On behalf of BSUA many thanks to all who helped out this season.

24.01.2022 Due to the prevailing weather conditions, and the current forecast for tomorrow, the Tournament Management Committee of the John Reid Shield - 37th Open Men's National Championship has decided there is not enough time to be able to complete all the round games and final series before the Championships are due to be completed. Therefore the final series, based on the completed first round of games, will now commence. The games to be played and the order that they will be playe...d in will be: Game 1 - 1st place v 2nd place - ACT v QLD Game 2 - 3rd place v 4th place - NSW v VIC Game 3 - Loser Game 1 v Winner game 2 Game 4 - Winner Game 1 v Winner Game 3 Currently, there are no specific times for these games to be played, the time will be set once the conditions allow. Each team will be given 2 hours notice before each proposed game is to start to ensure there is an appropriate time to travel to the ground and warm up properly.

24.01.2022 If you’re wanting something to do and keeping fit at the same time here’s a great post from SAL umpires you can do all these exercises without the resistance band too. https://www.facebook.com/964383666984171/posts/2826841890738330/

24.01.2022 Please contact James Galli directly. We are currently seeking umpires for school games based in various schools across Brisbane and surrounding areas. There is no fixed commitment to participate for the entire season, umpires can simply select dates that suit them and are paid via bank deposit. We are specifically seeking umpires for the following upcoming Term 4: Please note that we do have umpiring available in other areas of Brisbane throughout the term as well. It is a gr...eat way to earn extra money and develop their skills. As long as it does not clash with any current club commitments, if you know of any current players, parents, members, umpires or prospective umpires who may be interested please let them know to contact me at [email protected] Thank you for taking the time to read my email and please let me know if you have any questions. Kind Regards, James Galli Brisbane Sports Institute p: 03 9576 7171 m: 0405 505 463 w: bsisport.com.au e: [email protected] See more

14.01.2022 It cannot be easy to be a softball umpire, at any level. Softball is an extremely competitive sport where after every game, one team will come out on top while the other finishes short. The role of the umpire(s) on a softball field is crucial. We need umpires in our game because if we did not have them, there wouldn’t be a game. The number of umpires serving our game gets smaller and smaller each year. Many decide to go on another path because of the verbal and mental abuse u...Continue reading
