21.01.2022 Our Executive Director, Pam Betts, surprised St Anthony's Year 6 student Matilda Kelly with a visit in support of her call for students and staff to wear a splash of colour for this year's women's State of Origin game. Wearing her Queensland colours, Miss Betts thanked Matilda, a Blues supporter, for showing great initiative and getting in touch with her to highlight her passion for women's rights in sport. Miss Betts told Matilda that one day she hoped the women's State of O...rigin would become a tri-series competition just like the men's game. She said Brisbane Catholic Education provided equal opportunities for girls to play and excel in all sports offered by our 144 schools across the Archdiocese of Brisbane. She also congratulated the winning Maroons on defeating the Blues for the first time in four years and on home soil too. Go Queenslander! 15.01.2022 As rain continues to fall around the south east we understand flooding of local roads may impact on the ability of some staff, parents and students to travel to and from school safely. Please be assured that safety is our number one priority and we do not want anyone to be travelling in unsafe conditions. Do not hesitate to contact your school if you have any concerns. Our thoughts and prayers also are with our colleagues in NSW experiencing the worst of the flooding. #BCEschools #ifitsfloodedforgetit

15.01.2022 Senior Choir students at St Ritas Catholic Primary School, Victoria Point, have added their voices to our #SingYourOwnSong! campaign to set the world alight with songs of hope and joy. Written in collaboration with Paul Tyrrell (creative arts teacher) and Anthony Moss (Year 6 teacher), the song is a response by the students to the COVID health crisis, and the fundamental need for being connected with each other during times of isolation. They have also submitted the song to the ACMF National Songwriting Competition 2020. #ArtsAlight #futurelearningcommunities #BCEschools
