25.01.2022 In breaking news, BGC has decided to use the fifth Sunday in November to hold a one-off Olympic Double Trap shoot! 150 targets (5 rounds) for $100 plus final Graded skins each round and overall prize Lunch included in noms ... 0900 start Shooters, if you like shooting DTL Double Rise, you are going to lurve Double Trap. Aficionados swear that DT is easier, yet more satisfying than Double Rise. Only the centre 3 machines are used, and you get one combination of lo-hi, hi-lo, or lo-lo each time. Targets travel 55 metres. Picture below of 2019 QLD State Titles top 3 DT shooters. Good-looking blokes, you’ll agree. BGC hopes to see you there!

We’re preparing to host our October Monthly American Skeet Competition with thanks to On Target Sporting Arms for their generous sponsorship of today’s lunch. It’s not too late to stick your gun in the car and head in this direction. First wave kicks off at 9am.... 125 x Black Targets for $65 with generous cash prizes paid through all grades. Competition open to ACTA Members

20.01.2022 BGC Monthly Night Shoot Wednesday the 14th at 6pm Start. The famous fish and chips from Costas Seafood at 5:30pm. Don’t forget the $500 is still to be won, sponsored by Dave from Cool Dynamics, to whoever shoots the program clean. So all those trench shooters and skeet shooters who think down the line is easy, come down and make an easy $500... Program is 75 target medley 25 double barrel 25 single barrel 25 points See you all there

20.01.2022 Good Morning Everyone This coming Wednesday night sees the night trap competition featuring the 50 target Queensland Night Points Championship and a 25 target cash divide. Thats a total of 75 targets. Noms are $50, Brisbane Juniors are $30. Noms include dinner, which will be chicken, chips and salad. Dinner from 530pm.... Shooting starts as soon as it gets dark. And of course, there is the $500 on offer to anyone shooting the program clean, courtesy of Dave Smith and Cool Dynamics. See you all there!



18.01.2022 This Sunday sees our October Monthly Trap Shoot. The program is 25 cash divide, 50 points, 25 single and 20 pr Deauville doubles. The Winner of the 50 target points event will have their name etched on the Meadows Shield. Normally the shield is part of the 2 day carnival but because it was cancelled due to Covid, it has been decided in 2020 to shoot for it this month. The Deauville doubles is being held, with the top family* team having their name on the Cam McClymont and Fam...ily Cup. Teams can be any two shooters with an average of their handicaps (rounded up) to determine what mark they shoot from. Any team can win the event, although only intergenerational family teams are eligible for the Cup. Of course shoot the program clean, including the doubles and $500 is yours courtesy of Dave Smith and Cool Dynamics. Also everyone is in the sweep with a chance to be drawn to shoot for $300. The fantastic seafood lunch is once again available courtesy of Costa Seafoods. With over $1500 of prizes available, come on down and have a great day of Clay Shooting starting at 9am sharp. We have 5 DTL traps in operation and we throw White Flyer Targets.

15.01.2022 Thanks to all shooters who came to our January trap competition.The weather was great, trap machines performed well, the targets broke well and everyone had a great days of shooting and camaraderie amongst friends. There was some great scores shot, with the picture of our 'red' score board below. Cheers

13.01.2022 Don’t forget, shooters, that BGC is holding the 2020 Australian Open 200 target Trench competition this Saturday and Sunday from 0930. 100 targets each day, plus final on Sunday. Graded skins, and prizes for overall, grades, and L/J/V.... Noms $160, Juniors $100. Lunch included in noms. BGC regrets that DTL practice will be unavailable this Saturday. Covid-safe etiquette must be observed by all shooters. Please do not attend if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. See you there!



11.01.2022 The Australian Open 2 day Olympic Trap comp is finished, and what a fantastic 2 days of shooting we had. 200 Targets in total , 5 Squads and every condition possible to shoot in, we did.... The Final 6 shooters in order of Bib Numbers were Dan Johnson, Chad Barrett, Steven Grassic, Fernando Cilli, Michael Cilli and Michael Voutonous. Overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd was Awarded to Michael Cilli, Dan Johnson and Steven Grassic. The A Grade High Gun was taken by Fernando Cilli, B Grade High Gun was awarded to Chad Barrett and C Grade High Gun was Michael Voutonous. Women's Champion was won by Michelle Barrett, the Junior Champion was Rhys Greentree and Veteran was won by Chris Pedlar. Thankyou to all the shooters that attended, what had such a great weekend shooting with you all.

06.01.2022 Congratulations to Brisbane Gun Club Members who participated in the Toowoomba 2 Day Mad Hatter Skeet Doubles Comp on the weekend. Overall Highgun was won by Craig O’Neill with a very strong 288/300 C-Grade Highgun by Simon Hook... Veterans Highgun by Laurie Sceresini Toowoomba Clay Target Club always put on a great comp and this weekend was no different. A huge thanks to President Dr. Phil Keller and his team as well as to the weekends sponsors, volunteers and support personnel. Special mention to Craig O’Neill. Not only did he take out the overall on the weekend, it was the 3rd consecutive year his name will appear on this trophy. The depth of Skeet talent at Brisbane Gun Club is amazing. We have a number of accredited coaches and shooters who are more than willing to help you get started or to give it a try. 01.01.2022 BGC Skeet is kicking off 2021 on Sunday 7th February with a 125 x Black Target Skeet Comp. Multiple Skeet layouts open for Practice every Thurs, Fri and Saturday. Competition is open to current 2021 ACTA Members only.
