23.01.2022 Boxes in Acacia melanoxylon (Tasmanian Blackwood). Mitre joints supported by splines. They add so much to the solid timber joint both structurally and aesthetically. 18.01.2022 MK Fremad II (1888) fekk vernestatus av Riksantikvaren i 2008. I 2016 kom den på slipp hjå oss, etter at rigg, styrehus, maskin og dekks-installasjonar vart set...te på land. Det viste seg fort at rehabiliteringa ville bli mykje meir omfattande enn kva ein førebels synfaringsrapport frå 2008 rekna med. På fredag var det sjøsetting, og no ligg Fremad II igjen på sjøen. Her har me samla alle videoane frå restaureringa av Fremad II: / In 2008 the fishing vessel Fremad II(1888) was listed by The Directorate for Cultural Heritage. In 2016 the ship was put on our slipway, and it soon became clear that it would be a more comprehensive restoration that the preliminary condition report had estimated. On friday the ship was launched! 15.01.2022 As I mentioned in my last post, @sturtschoolforwood_students had their graduation last weekend, as well as their end of year exhibition 'Twenty Twenty' Both events were so beautiful. Tears were shed by many. Not me. I don't cry. This was truly an extraordinary year for all involved; students, their family and loved ones, tutors, Sturt admin and support staff. Yet, magic happened. 07.01.2022 As week 2 has drawn to a lovely close, I'm transported back to my nightmare time as a student at Sturt, struggling with every step, every process involved in this breadboard exercise. I mean....I really struggled. My board started off at about 28mm thick. By the time I was done, it was 17mm. But after ten days (these two students took a 5 relaxed days), I got it. Damn it.
